THANK YOU Art! I will print what you said (so I won’t forget lol) and take a look at them 🙂

Are any AC loads dual-fed through the use of contactors? For instance, the refrigerator powered from Inverter #1, If you turn that breaker off is there any other way for the refrigerator to get power?

No. If that inverter fails, or its not turned on, you loose everything on it.

It would be nice to have a flip-flop switch. Its on my list 🙂

I was on the road for a 1 day trip and inverter #2 failed. I had the windshield blinds down and couldn’t get them up (FWD OUTLETS) when I went to head home. I had to wire tie them up for the drive home. Had I been able to temporarily flip flop inverter #1 to #2 I could have raised them and not wasted 4 wire ties 🙂

I replaced the ole Freedom inverter/chargers/remotes shortly thereafter (5+ yrs ago) for a pair MagnumEnergy MS2812.

Look in sources that provide fire extinguishers for planes.

Clint the reason I asked for the coach number is I could probably give you info of where it has been that you do not have access to.

Paint is a concern but more importantly is the difference between converters in the era coach you are looking.

Marathon has engineered equipment in places that are accessible instead of having to move a refrigerator to get at a A/C filter. You have a battery boost to start your bus if chassis batteries fail you and when you change them you don’t have to take the bus apart to get at it. Same goes for house batteries and you have stronger inverters and you don’t need a turbo water pump to flush the toilet. And after you flush you don’t have to worry about replacing the shit tank because it is the wrong material. The difference in how the Aux air systems are plumbed is a huge difference. I could go on but that’s just a little bit of info.

There’s a reason you can’t find a bus in the year range you are looking. When the covid hit it seemed like everybody wanted a Prevost for under 200k with the belief that it would be perfect. The market was and still has buses that are in need of desperate help, you have found that out.

I believe one thing that has hurt new buyers is the influence of a few Youtubers doing videos of buses and promoting them in the secondary market that is grossly over hyped. A guy like Andrew Steele doesn’t know the difference between a bus and a bulldozer. If he wants to advertise for others that’s fine but charging money for advice services is ridiculous.

My business is usually a first indicator of the market conditions we can expect in the near future and it isn’t pretty. The increases in pricing is untenable. The windfall the whole RV market has experienced has to level out and with that people will get out due to not knowing what they got into or not knowing how to manage their time traveling or not being able to find a campsite that isn’t full. Or their wife does not like it.

So maybe you will find what you want soon.

    Later

That’s funny that you say that, We got over an inch last night everything is wet but bus and bus motor bone dry, It must have been like you said Humidity and temp were just right to cause that, Bus has been parked there 6 years and I’ve never seen that before.

Alex, if you pass through the east side of Houston on I-10 at a time you would like to stop for the night, I have a guest full hoop up site 2 miles north of I-10 at Exit 791, the Buc-ees exit.

Can introduce you to another Prevost owner and I know where the locals go to eat.

    Safe travels.

    Not true, Mark.

A Liberty coach repairs itself. Some repairs take a while longer which is why Dicks coach took a while to get started.

I use recycled fried chicken oil with an additive of KY Jelly and have never seen high temps on my third member, not to mention the power divider.

Speaking of noise, anyone using the Rec Pro roof top AC (Made by Houghton). Supposedly significantly quieter than other roof top ACs.

I am hesitant to do rooftop for two reasons, a) I have vents in the ceiling and will require cutting through those, and b) I’d like to preserve the roof space for solar.

I use a gas regulator that goes to 400 psi. The outlet port has the correct fitting for the system. Easy to do, just remove the outlet fitting and use what you need or you can make a hose to connect to what is there now.

It looks like setting the shore power cord and size to 32-35 amps is working, which suggests this is a breaker issue. The front cruisair started working after dark, and I am able to compare total amps on the coach electric panel to the inverter’s charge, load, and total amps. When I increase the load, for example, when turning on the front cruisair, I can see the inverter charging amps drop in order to attempt to keep under the power cord size I have set. We’ll see if the cruisair will continue to work as the day gets hotter (probably not).

of course setting that power cord size will do nothing to prevent loads to exceed the amperage I set, but at least it seems the throttle the battery charging load. So, for that reason, most of the time all circuits are disabled except the RVAC and the front cruisair.

I seem to have other problems like the HH water pump not working, and I had a high pressure hose pop off (fixed the hose), but I’ll try to keep that in another thread (eventually, as I probably don’t need the pump at the moment).

    thanks for all the help!
