Tom: I had a very similar experience when I went to register our Liberty in Wisconsin. Wisconsin DMV considers it a “Liberty”.

That’s a great bus and for those looking for delam piece of mind, Phil’s XLII has the rivet fix along with many upgrades and maintenance items done.

What part of FL is he in? I’ll see if I can help get someone out to him.

Thanks, Jeff. Thank you for typing slow. I will check things out, visit NAPA one mile away and check back in.

I found R33 is controlled by the charging system, start engine relay comes on and pump comes on, only thing that is weird is that pump says 24v and it only has 12v
Generator is on Detroit that’s what boggled me, when it says generator I thought what does the generator have to do with a water pump to the front of the bus.

Congrads Tim and Cindy on the sale closing.
As some say….Now you have experienced the 2 best days of bus ownership.
If you get over to KC …give me a call I’am thinking BBQ at Jack Stack.

I’m used to the noise. All my prevost’s have had cruise airs. I was looking to see if anyone had a good experience upgrading to a newer unit while still keeping the STX controllers and any crestron control. Based upon the conversation It looks like the best bet is to repair the existing unit.

Seems like a deal. If I remember right the 3/2 valves from Prevost were about $80 and the 5/3 valves were about $166.
I dont think I had a choice on some of them b/c of availability but I remember I was able to get a little better price at Allied Electronics for most of them.

The original techlink computer went out last year on my 02 XLII. I was in Oregon and the work was done in Coburg. First they replaced video card but that didn’t fix problem so they put in the raspberry and it has worked fine ever since.

I can understand Volvo’s position, however, it’s occasionally been my experience when you go above entry level personnel, you can sometimes get something special.
What I’m looking for is a contact name at Prevost above the parts counter level who may be able to facilitate.

Art,
Keep us posted on your progress and post the bearing number. Finding these bearings in the past has been difficult and DD wants to sell you the whole assembly.

Having both a Marathon 40 footer and 5 airstreams, and a Bigfoot camper, al tho all are great tools for certain occasions, the bus is the top of the heap. Unless you currently have a stout tow vehicle, after a fifth wheel purchase your going to need a big truck to pull the fiver. Nothing less than a one ton truck Which with the size of the fually truck, your grocery getter will be tough to park at the supermarket and the national park car park.
Sit down if you havent already and list out the pros and cons of a fiver and a bus. Not change your mind, but you might find a rental trailer and spend a week in it.
