We used the bus air both going to Nashville and coming home. It kept the bus and driver nice and cool even with the morning sun shinning in all of that glass. My copilot did get a little warm since there are no dash vents blowing on her so we put a fan in the aisle to blow cool air to her side of the front and all was well.

It did start flashing the Low Pressure light on the trip to Nashville again so I am wondering if we did not put enough freon in or if my leak is worse than I had hoped or the pressure switch is not right.

Main concern would be safety. A real close look at the cut and if it penetrated the tire casing at all.

You might want to look at the other tires just in case there was more then one sharp object on the roadway.

Yep, it’s real easy to do. Distraction seems to be amajor player, although a different vehicle requiring a different routine will certainly throgh a wrench into the works.

I managed to tow our Jeep Liberty about six feet with the parking brake on. Luckily, Janice always watches the first few feet of travel after a light check and caught it as I dragged the rear tires accross gravel. No damage, but it was an excellent reminder.

Don’t feel too bad Tom…. could have been much worse…. and much more expensive to correct!

    See ya in Myrtle Beach!

OKC and Tulsa are old stomping grounds for the wife and I being from OK and having relocated to Springifeld MO 25 years ago, so it sounds like fun. We would be one of the “new faces” you would be talking about. OKC that time of year will likely be very nice temps with lows in the upper 40’s low 50’s and high in the upper 60’s low 70’s. The other neat thing from our standpoint, if I get my rear in gear this summer, it is possible that our coach conversion from OTR tour bus to motorhome could be either completed or nearly so after 7 years of work. OKC is just 5 hours down the road and would make a good shake down maiden voyage for us. Count us in but put a “maybe” by our name, just in case life throws us a curve ball.

On another note, if someone can tell me how to do it or where to find instructions how to do it, I would like to post a pic of our coach to the avatar.

each leveling valve has a check valve to keep air from returning to the main system from the bags. These fail quiet often. The new ones I recieved from Prevost as replacement for the 98 last week had schrader valve type that installed in the supply line side on the valve. 3 lbs to open inlet side and held back 150lb (I bench tested). The only way I can see air returning/excaping from air bags now is leaks ,exhaust or norgren valves. To check your leveling valves remove put shop air to supply side and put in bucket of water. no bubbles= good note: valves must be in neutral position. Bob

I suupose it’s also possible you had just enough freon to keep the low pressure switch from shutting you down or the low pressure switch itself may be intermittent.

Cheryl is still having a hard time. I’m flying to Cali to spend a week with her tomorrow. Wish I could say she will be in Myrtal Beach but it’s not looking good at this time.

    Rick,

The only real way to test your batteries is to fully charge them and load test. That will pretty much tell you the condition. If they all load test OK, then it’s a matter of keeping them charged while not using the coach. There is a small drain on the batteries all the time for DDEC, but mine and others have no problem going a few months with any charging. That being said, mine are new and hold up well.

If you have a single stage charger, you could easily cook the batteries with overcharging if left on. Mine has a single stage and before I changed out the batteries, I would run the charger for 2 – 3 hours a month just to keep them up. The answer is a 3 stage charger like the Guest that you can turn on and leave it while the coach is setting for extended periods of time. The charger would bulk/absorbtion charge and then go to float just like your inverters charging the house batteries. I have installed a few of the Guests and they work great.

If your batteries are toast, I would suggest Napa Group 31’s and they run about 100 bucks each and are sealed lead acid. If you want the best, call me, I’ll fix you up with Lifelines.

got some time to play with the feul gauge again. a with the pictures my gauge has the three points.(p/g/s)

i have a wire to the power side of 24 volts/ i have a wire that is connected to the s terminal. i am thinking that one goes to the sender. i have nothing at the g terminal. currently as previously mentioned my gauge reads over full. when i remove the wire that is attached to the (s) terminal my gauge goes to empty. when all reconected and i apply a ground to the (g) terminal. it stays on the full mark. my tank has full about 4 inches from the top of the tank. i may have to remove some full and put it in my smart car deisel so it reads half and then i can see if the gauge will move.

    Al,

Knowing you’re a big business man, I can’t believe you missed those items in your Contract along with the quarterly dividend checks you agreed to donate to the home for ex bus owners!
