Thanks, just finished a search and found a thread with the same problem in 2014 posted by ME! Interesting. I think I’ll check my records and see what I did at that time but it sounds like the five port in the strg bay is bad, maybe again. If that’s the case, I suppose I should check for moisture issues, too.

steve, olympia should have no objections on working with you on getting the coach to prevost so you can have a dmi done. i found it best to be at prevost in person when the inspection was happening. that way the service tech can walk you through the inection and findings and provide you with clear direction on recommended service pr repairs.

Checked again….it shows 10 digit is alpha “0”. Shop guy’s tell me engine is 8V92.

Are there no cosmetic differences to tell if it is a ’93 or a 2000? Headlights/rear lights/grille etc?

Does the black tank come with the concrete blocks preattached? or does the converter fit those to the tank after it arrives? I’ve always been curious now they do that.

On another bus forum an owner of a homebuilt conversion reported on his recent experience with a blowout.

He said he was doing 65 MPH on I-64 when the left front blowout happened. He did not say he hit the accelerator, but he did say he never touched the brake, he retained control and moved it onto the shoulder. He did not use the brakes until he was at low speed and on the shoulder.

He described the damage to the coach from the blowout which soundled minimal.

The clear path to take is to do everything possible to avoid a blowout. Make sure the tires are not old, make sure they are properly inflated, and visually inspect them to the extent possible to look for sidewall cracking, damage from road hazards, etc. But even good tires can have a blowout so try to always keep in mind the recommendations above when or if the blowout occurs.

I think you are better off doing what you did last year unless you have a lot of confidence you can get the water out of all the low spots in piping, out of appliances, etc. RV anti freeze is a possible solution but I cannot imagine the gyrations you have to go through to run it through the washer or ice maker or RO unit, etc. all of which will hold water. Blowing air through them is no less of a challenge.

So I moved. My garage which is normally unheated in even the coldest weather stays well above freezing and when it is supposed to get single digit temps, I just turn on the furnace to 45 degrees. I’m happy, the bus is happy, and not issues with freezing.

Moving was a little more of an issue than just trying to keep the bus from freezing however.

I have the 3M and like it, but like others have said, when it gets dull, it has to be re-done. If it can be removed without damaging the paint, then you’re good to go back on with new, otherwise, it’s paint time.

Tom & Bill have obvioulsy been talking to Al too much and are under the opinion I change buses often, but just not true. I’ve had this one now for 5 months. Have you guys yet found the secret compartment in your XLII that is stuffed to the gills with hundred dollar bills? It’s there, you’re just not looking in the right place. Did you also find a spare toilet seat? I have also discussed raising your due’s with Jon.

Vault Tour along with dinner. Those details are being worked out and
information will be forthcoming, cost, time, etc.
