Maybe I missed it, but what caused the batteries to go bad? Is the charger not working, or worse, is it overcharging and ruining the batteries? Or like Bob said culd be just 1 bad abttery. If it is the charger causing the problem, it will ruin the new batteries also. I would be carefull with the new batteries and make sure they are being charged correctly.

Im sick to my stomach over this…. batteries are toast. With genny runing for 5-6 hour and inverter on charge mode I was never able to get batteries up over 11 volts. In that time they went from 10 volts to 10.5. Maxed out at 11.

I did buy a voltage reader. I put the red to possitive and black to negative and it show sames voltage. So batteries are no good.

Here is what stinks- they are Interstate batteries and I just bought them 8/6//13. Im certain the warranty if any is only 12 months. Does anyone else know?

So, I go in the morning to pickup another set of batteries.

I sure wish there was a way to by-pass the batteries and run straight genny.

I never dry-camp and always run my genny.

Is this possible?

Chrysler powered, read 354 cu in Hemi’s, from the Briggs Cunningham race team finished in 3rd and 5th places. The list of competing vehicles does not show any Corvettes. Oh, that’s right, they came out strong in 1953 with a brutish 235 cu in six cylinder! Yeah, I rebuilt one of those too, since I was embarassed driving Carole’s 1957 4 -door Bel-Air beside the River Charles in Watertown, Massachusetts. Got parts at Dick Pratt’s Speed Shop in Watertown. I asked him what was the largest over size piston listed in his parts book. Turned out to be .120 over, which is big, and with 9.5:1 compression. Dick said I would always have overheating problems with the thinning of the cylinder walls. Turned out not to be a problem, and yeah it would run heads up with the early generation Mustangs. Maybe that has something to do with my defense of Red in these threads. I can understand what he is saying, when he says it.

BTW, in the early 1950’s Chrysler Hemi’s also dominated NASCAR having sent the Hudson Hornets into retirement.

I’m not trying to sell that particular brand of valve stem cap, but I have used them for about 10 years now and they not only have made checking pressure and airing up the tires much simpler, but my air loss in tires has dropped to almost nothing, an indication that conventional valve cores with typical valve stem caps do not offer that second seal and therefore permit air leakage.
