I agree with Jon… Depending on how cold it’s going to get you don’t want to keep your main waterline connected. We were in Colorado last year and it got down to -20 a couple of nights and even with heated hose and heated faucet it all froze up.. So our process was to dump and fill each evening and stow all the hoses inside the heated bay.

Our webasto kept us nice and warm until it broke… in which case it got pretty cold. Electric toe heaters helped but we suplemented with two space heaters from walmart which we will travel with when we go back this year.

    Good Luck

I have an auto transfer sw. I get AC but when the lights on my inverter are all out, I get no power to my wall plugs. I go to the pannel and cycle the inverter and the wall sockets work.

Headed that way, but don’t get there till 25 July. In Ann Arbor Michigan now, go west via MI UP for a few days and northern US route with a few overnights. To Vancouver for a while starting on 28 July. Back to US and Washington and Oregon till 10 Aug, then head towards Driggs for the Eclipse Rally.

The inverters are temperature controlled however they reside outside of the battery compartment which is an enclosed unit vented to the bottom of the vehicle on this CC. Dunno if they are all like that or not. I think it would be safe to assume that the “battery compartment” temperatures will always be close to ambient. I have lived in Arizona for the past twelve years and its not just the bus that eats batteries. Motorcycle batteries last about a year, car batteries last about two….the fix on the later is to purchase a battery with a three year replacement which, in effect, is about the same as an automotive battery lasting four years as they will only replace them once. Also, ALL of my battery failures have happened during the summer!

What I have been able to learn is that batteries like standard days and when they are requested to operate in either extreme heat or extreme cold their service life is substantially lowered. Looks like they really begin to degrade at 40C and are pretty much toast by 60C. I used flooded deep cycles early on and replaced them with AGM’s. Funny, every battery I have ever installed has been a Johnson Controls unit, cleverly marketed as Interstate, AC Delco, Optima, Varta, Hellar, Powerframe, Les Schwab, BMW, Mercedes, Die Hard and more.

It will be nice to see Megan & Gary again, especially want to see what Jeff did to their coach if they don’t mind.

    Cheers, Diane

We started a list of must haves and would be nice items when we purchased our first motorhome. A bedroom slide was on the would be nice list, however a different layout could solve that issue. Ease of movement around the bed and storage space is the current issue. The must haves list has changed slightly now that our kids don’t travel as often with us.

We currently spend most of our time outside enjoying the locations we stay at and I don’t see that changing.

“Oh yeah I forgot to mention that we took out the combo and had a stacked setup installed. It went in like butta !“

Did it go in through the door? or did you have to take out a window?

Dale the ipad option is a huge disappointment, doesn’t really work from what people tell me. If someone has any luck with the use of it please let me know, I do like the size of the ipad. Silverleaf indicated they really aren’t doing a lot with it, maybe that will change but I doubt it.

Jon what is nice about the silverleaf, and others, is that you can set alarm points on all of the different data points and unless you get an alarm there is no worries, which I like.

After a little use it is easier to use than gauges, at a glance you can quickly take in a lot of info, much safer than going from gauge to gauge. I agree with too much info, you can choose what to put on your screen and what size.

I do like the fact that I can tell what the engine is burning fuel wise, not including the fuel being used for hot water, heating etc, gives you a very acurate means of measurement. Knowing your torque and HP output at any given moment is useful too. Knowing the average mpg since new, total gals used is something that you just can’t get through other methods (as easy). As Silverleaf advertises, knowledge is horsepower. (no I do not work for them, just enjoy their product)

You can easily get live info off of the engines computer from anywhere in the world if you so desire, I don’t have that need tho. The logs are nice if you want to study someone else that might be driving your rig, max rpm, speed etc etc.

The Pro Driver was discontinued years ago because it was obsolete, limited in what it could do compared to everything else available.

And what is really nice is for the drivers that are not as skilled as others I just unplug the USB, remove display, and there is all the gauges all properly working. One thing I have noticed is that the gauge oil pressure is incorrect whereas the computer reading is right on, even tho I have changed sending units etc.
