This is strictly a shot in the dark so don’t take it too seriously.
The enemy of any air system is moisture. I am not completely unfamiliar whith how Royale set up the air system in your coach such as if it has its own dedicated air, or if it is part of the coach aux air, but regardless of where the compressed air comes from, it has to be dry.
In trouble shooting coaches I have seen Norgren valves “frozen” because corrosion had been present in the air system, the aluminum housing had a paste internally that had eventual slowed and then stopped all movement of the plunger and then the spool itself. Our coaches suffer greatly if the air system is not purged of moisture routinely and if the air dryer element is not replaced regularly. The one area most conversion owners overlook is compressed air coming from auxiliary air compressors. My coach (and yours presumably) has a moisture trap and filter, but few owners ever know they are there, much less service them as part of air system maintenance. I bleed my air tanks every 5000 miles and change my air dryer element every 2 years and about once or twice a year I bleed or drain the moisture traps for the aux air compressor. So far so good. I would start on your coach to look for evidence of moisture elsewhere. If you can stop it before it becomes pervasive it eliminates a whole lot of future costs and grief.

This is going to be a great tool for folks to get answers directly from Prevost. It will take time to fine tune the process on this forum, but Prevost is leading the way for interaction between the manucaturer and customer and we are dedicated to make this happen.

California does exempt personal MotorHomes. I was at a Cummins shop about 4 years ago, and they had rows of 07 spec. ISL engines that were being placed in trucks that were going to the port. The State of California was paying over $45K per truck to have the new engines installed. Most of the trucks I saw were worth about $10K and were 10 year old beaters with 1M miles & Dual Registration (US & Mexico) WHAT A STATE! I just filled my Jeep up today @ $3.89 a gallon with gas that is 10% ethanol, that reduces my mileage, and 25% of that fuel bill was tax. I have to drive a Jeep as a daily driver because our roads are so beat-up it tears up a normal car. My neighbor just had to put a new wheel & tire on his Audi R8 @ almost $1,500 because of a pot hole he hit on PCH. I had to replace a wheel, tire, inner fender, rocker panel on my Lexus because of the holes in I-40 while delivering a coach to Arizona. Somethig I have to do on all of our out of State sales because California requires Sales Tax to be paid if an out of State buyer takes delivery in California. But the weather is nice LOL.

I sure hope you make it to a rally some day. It sounds like you have put together a 1 of a kind bus that I would love to see.

As owners not all want to do mechanical work, but after 21 years of ownership I can state emphatically none of us needs to do our own work, but there is a huge benefit from developing an understanding of our coaches.
Nobody needs to memorize what Hector is teaching, but I do recommend that it is to be used as a valuable resource for the time when the suspension or air system needs work.
Over the years I have fielded many phone calls from owners who were stuck because of an issue with the suspension. The single most common problem (and it is a true problem) is that the bus will not come up to ride height. An owner with access to Hector’s presentation can clearly see the center solenoid in the valve stack in the steer compartment is the key to getting air through the ride height valves and in almost every case it was the solenoid coil that failed. Swapping it with any other coil gets the bus on the road in about 5 minutes. My point is as owners nobody has to be held hostage by a mechanic that has to learn the bus systems before making a repair. Even if the owner chooses not to make the minor repair he will be in an ideal position to assist a mechanic with either advice or a review of Hecotr’s tutorial.
One of the reasons Tom and I are seeking a broad base of owners and operators is so we can share information and knowledge to make Prevost ownership a positive experience.

was on drivers side near tag axle beam. I had just overlooked it. The green on the I saw on the norgren valve was denoting which air bags it was controlling for leveling system.. Turned out to be dual control norgren valves. Thanks for info and patients. Bob

When you lift your tag axle ; your coach disconnects the service brake feature to the tags. Like some have pointed out their function just takes weight off tags. If the brake function was not disabled the tags would skid at a slight brake application. Bob

Andre,
I also could not find your article even though it shows it to be there. If Tom hasn’t asked already send my an attachment via email and I will try to play with it to see if I can upload it.
We are trying to sort out all our glitches and the only way is to do it in the real world. When we practiced originally we had no serious issues, but obviously something is wrong and it not only has affected you but it has also affected Hector’s article that he submitted. Both of you are computer savvy guys so we clearly have a problem we need to solve.

Bill,
Your rally sounds like a lot of fun. As you can see we will not be able to attend due to the PP event. at the same time. Always next year.

Rob have you run your “ear” along the circuit, to hear if there is any “clicking” of relays or “shorting noises? Can you disconnect power to the wires and do a continuity test to ground on the wires for shorts? Also is anything “wires” feeling warm to the touch were they shouldn’t be?

Interesting Rob you have a seated coach and I have a MH 91XL40 M-1838
Greg
Is there a way to save the font size you want to use, instead of defaulting to 12px?

Are you kidding Tuga, where have you been, we’ve been waiting on you!
