Award winning battery alternative!

Dan, I know on my bus fire it was 100% a shitty compressor replacement by a Carrier shop that eliminated the unloader valves because the mechanics were much smarter than the Prevost engineers.
NOT!

Why not take the drive line out instead of taking out axles??

Honestly, scrolling through the tire pressures and temps automatically could drive you nuts after awhile. I much prefer a green light or other indicator and only an alarm when there’s trouble as previously stated. Much less distracting. It still gives you what you want; peace of mind.

Jeff:
I used a ratchet strap (strap about 1″ wide & 6′ long). Put the strap around the gas cylinder BEFORE I installed it, compressed the cylinder, installed then released the strap.
Couple of lessons learned while replacing the 10 cylinders (of course I had it figured out by the time I got to the last one LOL)
Measure the length of the cylinder installed so you know how much the new one needs to be compressed. Lay the new one flat on the floor/work bench and compress it to the measured length, install it, release the strap, done.
Make sure the ratchet is positioned at the bottom front side when installed. If it isn’t you will have trouble removing it and may have to take the cylinder off and relocate the ratchet (don’t ask me how I know).

Thanks for the comments, to follow up on other responses regarding lighting and heat loss, in my shop i placed the LED lights at 7 feet from floor, and slightly angled them down towards the coach my reasoning is that 95% of the work carried out is either in the bays or rear axle etc, my system works great with no shadows.
Lighting placed higher up the walls or on the ceiling will be of little use and will throw shadows.
I also did not have windows installed in the walls, security was my reasoning for that and so far i do not miss them, plus they are a source of heat loss, in summer months if i am in the shop the door are open anyway, I have 2 man doors, one at each end.
Concrete floor is 7 inches thick with styro-foam sheeting laid on top of compacted 3/4 road gravel, with re-bar. no cracking to date, coach has been parked on this since August 2019.
The sides of the shop at floor level have a 6×6 styro-foam block that is set in the wall, concrete is then poured up to that to prevent heat loss/transfer through wall at that level, walls are insulated with 6 inch insulation.
To conserve floor space and avoid possible damage i mounted the boiler for the in floor heat system at 10 feet high on the wall.
I have 2 x 50 amp plug ins, one on each wall depending if i drive in or reverse coach in to shop.
230v power outlets for large air compressor on each wall.
Have added a pic of this mornings temp at 08.30, with temps like this a heated shop is a must to preserve a Prevost and makes a great place to pass the time maintaining it.
Hope this helps, maybe a different take on things from the frozen North !
regards
Gordon

Ditto what Truk said. Diane, I hope you get well so you and Larry can get out and about.
Best wishes and a Happy and Safe New Year to all of the Prevost Community. Wishing you Safe travels.

I don’t know if others do this, but when I manually downshift is momentarily step on the accelerator, look for a little boost and then push the downshift button. You can’t even feel the downshift. Of course I do that when I am in the proper speed for the gear.
To use Jim’s example of 4th, I make sure I am at 50 or below so am not at the peak of the RPM range.
Also, for a hard braking event if the retarder is engaged it will assist with braking at a force proportionate to the braking force automatically. The retarder stick can be in the zero position, but as long as the dash switch is on in that case your brakes are being assisted.

Who purchased Peter’s Coach ? Are You a member here ? Check and see if that coach still has a PS assist cylinder ?
Greg,
Did you take it for a drive with the lines plugged ? Can you still turn the wheels at a full stop on a XL II ?

That’s an IR receiver for TV remote.

Dorel,
On our coach on the curb side water bay, above the water pump we have a
shelf that has three little white 2 x 4 aquarium type air pumps that measure
the levels in our tanks. They work off a timer, so if you wait 5 minutes, you will
hear one turn on and pump some air.

Great video ! Only concern is having cruise control engaged during blowout. Any thoughts ?

You’re correct in the cost, Jon. Mira !Loma quoted us &27,000 for the rivet kit repair utilizing all existing panels. To re-skin a Bus worse case scenario was $42,000 plus of course paint. It also doesn’t help things when a “seller” claims the panel delam is a scam as we were told by one entity after we factored in the panel fix cost in our offer to buy
-
You wonder if anybody has had it inspected by Prevost and a while later delam?? Would they cover it??
