Geo I don’t think I was on same page as you were. After reading Dick’s post I thought he was suffering from one of the 2 Liberty syndrones you outlined in your post. Therefore I choose the corner I thought he was in..LOL

PS I do think those are Liberty exclusive.

    Pres,

My 2002 CC is on a slide. If possible add one while your gen is out. It makes everything so easy I actually enjoy servicing my unit. My 6’4″ 250lb frame can even (uncomfortably) get to the battery and the remote radiator.

Just as general information for everyone, Prevost has had a suspension system evolution and initially it was necessary to maintain aux or accessory air pressure to prevent the suspension from settling down in the rear. In the mid niineties the system logic was modified so the aux or accessory air system pressure could drop to zero and the suspension system would still retain its air pressure in all air bags (assuming no leaks).

When the independent front suspension was introduced more changes to the system were made.

What has never changed is that regardless of the system design or logic the coach has three individual suspension systems that only share an air supply. And that air supply is blocked, as is the air in the suspension system when the key is off (except on some converter modified systems). So the way to stop the coach from leaning or settling down is to stop the leaks. The leaks are going to be through the Norgren valves, at the fittings, or at the air bags. Whether the leak is in the front system, the left rear system or the right rear system it will be from the Norgren valve that functions as the control to supply or deplete air to the air bags associated with that system and everywhere in between.

We’ve discussed this before but it bears repeating. Leaks are difficult to find in some instances and the actual finding of the leak may involve a person’s ears, a stethoscope or soapy water or an ultrasonic leak detector. Finding leaks takes time and patience and a lot of money unless you do the leak detection work yourself. The starting point however is there must be a basic understanding of the supension system and its operating logic.

Had mine in several times over the years after I first bought at Prevost Fort Worth and Houston after they first opened, with this issue. Gave them Carte Blanche and after several thousand dollars and 3 way, 5 way, leveling valves, fittings and hose’s and who knows what else it will still start settling after about 3 or 4 days. Takes about a week before it hits the stops on back. As far as Prevost is concerned Had to adjust there bill as they had to replace 5 ways again they said were bad on a second or third trip back in to shop a couple years back within about a month as I kept telling them to fix at all cost. . Sounds like you have a hellava leak and ought to be able to hear that puppy. Good luck on the fix.

    PS,

It’s down on the back after about a week of sitting in the barn. Rats!

While I have not purchased a Prevost yet, on a daily basis I scour all the sites where Coaches are posted. I read every description, view every photo and study the build list. I too, see a wide range of conditions vs. posted price. Some make no sense at all way, too high for the year and build list, and you can not determine the “condition” until you make the on site inspection and get a professional review of the Coach. Some Coaches look too good to be true. It is a crap shoot and one of the ways to determine if the Coach is right for you at a price is to do the evaluation of the Coach with a real expert repair shop, many on this site have talked about which shop is good at determining what needs to be fixed on a Coach before purchase. I hope I don’t offend anyone here but making an offer on a Coach is purly subjective. Owners feel they have a Coach of great value and the buyer feels they need to ensure the buy price reflects what needs to be fixed that is known and what “unknown” fixes will come after the purchase. I for one will drive a hard bargain: not to beat up the owner for the sake of driving the price down, but to cover my butt when it comes to covering my costs on Zeroing out the Coach. There will come a day when I make the leap into the Prevost Community and I want it to be a great journey not one where I curse the day I bought the Coach. and the PC. I know nothing is perfect or guranteed, but I want to do the best job I can in selecting a Coach for purchase. I am open to comments on where I am right or wrong. Again I do not wish to offend anyone and will apologize ahead of time if my comments are offensive to anyone.

Congrats! enjoy! And you probably have less invested than some of the guys with new coaches suffer in depreciation EACH YEAR! Been there, done that. And you will probably have much less trouble than some of the more complex rigs. Hope to meet you on the road and welcome!

    Jon,

That seems to be the story of my life day late and a dollar short. I have waited a long time to get in the position to buy a Prevost and plan on buying the right one the first time. Hopefully 6 months is enough time to find the right one. Being on PC has been very educational I’m not the reader I should be but I have read more on the forum in the last week than I have read in my life it seems. Again thanks for the input.

I cannot address the cost. I have no idea how the numbers were reached. I actually wanted to go pretty bad despite the fact that in addition to the rally cost I would be looking at serious money just for fuel.

The show stopper was I am not going to want to be in a parking lot. In addition to the NASCAR events, for me a big part of a rally such as this is to hang around the coaches sitting in lawn chairs, sharing beers, and talking abut whatever we Prevost owners talk about when we are together. Liberty did a great rally at the Memorial Day Charlotte races this year and we had full hookups and were far enough apart so we could extend awnings, hang around the coaches and socialize. The cost was less than the cost of this rally and we had a first class experience.

I cannot imagine doing Las Vegas with 70 buses running generators. We would be gagging.

Jon, I know, hair is fairly over rated. I still have a good bit left but I try and paste what falls out!

Anyway….. who are the two handsome gentlemen in the picture. Is it you and Tom?

I only say handsome because your wives paid me.
