    “I would accept a small give however, like a 2016 X3, OTR 2 slides……………….. ”

Small???? Do they still make the 40 footer?? That may rule out your “small” gift.

    Glens,

I don’t believe you need to disturb seals that are still doing a fine job. The ones that need attention are those leaking. Put this way, the leak will only get worse.

As for getting seals most are available in any large city. Most seals are number stamped and this is the start point to cross reference the number. Heavy duty seals come from NAPA and other heavy duty truck parts suppliers.

I just left Prevost Nashville and remember walking past a rack about 5 feet tall which held the installing tools for replacement of seals. They showed lots of use setting new seals properly in place.

I think Truk4u makes a pretty good point , that the new seal was fine ….. the installer made a mistake.

Since the age of the coaches posted seems to indicate EGR coaches I suggest OTR has nothing to do with the life. My 97 with OTR had well over 200,000 when it was replaced.

Instead I think the ECM has multiple triggers for the fan beyond engine coolant temp and AC, both driver and OTR will trigger the fan on later model DDECs.

    Hi Fred,

When I replaced the water heater on now Tom’s 94 Liberty, I disconnected the big sand filter and sent it to the trash pile. You cannot get any parts and sounds like you already know that. I assume you already have a whole house filter, mine did.

My current Liberty had a Headhunter Jetpaq water pump, old and outdated, 120 volt and even though it works fine, I just replaced it with a new Mach 5. What a diffierence in sound, very quiet. I’m now in the process of installiing a small expansion tank because of the reverse osmosis system. Headhunter suggested the expansion tank because as the RO system works it uses small amounts of water and if the Mach 5 cycles 10 times in a certain period of time, it will shut down thinking the system has a leak and then will need reset.

If you have the Paragon pump, you probably have a Microphor toilet and not Headhunter, so going to the Mach 5 would be overkill in my opinion and expensive. You could always replace it with one of the many Grundfos pumps that are available.
