OMG! What a gem that trouble-shooting guide appears to be. I can’t wait to start digging into that. No one anywhere that I have had work on the coach had anything even similar.
Thank you a million times.

Sorry to hear that . Rest in peace Bill.

I talked to them last year while I was there Robert, but they didn’t seem interested. Their focus was on the plastic crowd who actually enjoyed spending 4 or 5 days in their parking lot. I spent almost 4 days there for 3 windows and left with paint to touch up. Red was lucky with the B team, I got the F team. Details is not one of their strong suits.

Gary,
If you are in Raleigh the Gregory Poole shop in Garner, just east of Raleigh on I-40 can fix your issues. Take I-40 East to the Jones Sausage Road exit. Go left at the signal and left again at Integrity Drive, that would be the first street past the westbound I-40 on ramp. There is a Smithfield Bar-b-que restaurant across the street or if you prefer, a Burger King next door. They also have outside hook-ups for over nighting.
Give Steve Atwater a call at (919) 775-7056. I’d bet they could get you back to snuff before leaving for Jacksonville.

Just to be sure…….Are all you who are having problems logged in???????
You have to be logged in to search and post.
And boys and girls, if the problem was as simple to solve as logging in I get to spend three more days in a car with Tom reminding him I am not technically challenged.

from the service side, older cruise air units had very good life cycles and cooled well when charged properly. For a period of time over the past several years there has been issues with the condensing units with both hot gas bypass valve failure and compressor issues. The units now have been doing very good with out fail and seem to actually be quieter than earlier units. Any air conditioning unit first must have the preparation to cool properly. You must get system into proper vacuum to cool properly, then charge properly so it cools properly in all conditions.
All this said to say I think you would be happy with cruise air units that are functioning properly…

I agree with Tom and Jon that the converters knowing much more than I do probably balanced everything very well. They balance the electrical load the best they can with the usage patterns they know. There is one thing that the converter has no idea about. That is how we will personally use our coaches. They can not know how each individual owner will use their coach.
For instance one side of my panel has the fridge, the water heater, the two front electric base board type heaters, the electric heater in the plumbing bay and the electric base board type heater in the bathroom. In addition to lights and recpetacles. Normal usage on a cold night would be one of the front heaters off the other on about 55-60, the bathroom heater on high, the plumbing bay heater on, the water heater on and the fridge kicking on and off.
That would be fine except our daughter sleeps in the front of the bus in a bunk we built where the second table used to be. With 9 windows up there she needs both front heaters on high. That pushes me above 40 amps on that leg and higher if the batteries are not yet in float.
None of this takes in the Aquahot but sometimes circumstances can work against you. Mine was out of commission for inside heat last week and it was way below Zero. Simply moving the water heater and bathroom heater breakers to the other leg solved my balance problem. After nearly 6 years of use I know that will not tip the balance too far the other way at all.
I am sure the people you are taking it to can balance the load according to your usage. As Jon said, shore power can not run everything. Everything becomes fair game when you need the microvave, stove top, blow dryer or curling iron.

Two observations…………..Prevost equals bus. Converter or converter repair center equals house. Don’t mix the two. It can be bad for your wallet and satisfaction with the results.
Second………..Royale made a good coach and the folks designing and building them knew their stuff. What you perceive as an imbalance problem is more than likely a power managment problem we all face. We can all put more load on a given shore power circuit than the circuit can handle. I seriously doubt juggling which side of the panel the different devices are is going to solve the problem. You just have to learn what devices you can have on at any given time. After a while it becomes intuitive. If you absolutely, positively have to run 4 ACs, the microwave, the outside Jenn Air, the water heater, and the washer and dryer, start the generator. It will handle everything at once. Shore power will not, and never has.

Thanks AL , I don’t think mine on the prevost aux tank has check valve just a pressure protection valve thought maybe I was missing something , because I changed all my check valves thought maybe I missed one….

If I am seeing that correctly that hose is the air intake and likely available at any NAPA store.

Do what you want. I was simply stating what I do. I did three oil changes this year between April and October. I stored the bus for the winter with clean oil in engine and generator. To me it is well worth it. For you it may not be.

The weather improved and I finally changed the Allison transmission fluid. The drain plug was really torqued down – so bad that I bent the head of a (cheap?) socket extension. But it did let go finally. The tip about using a Home Depot mortar mixing tub worked great. No spills. I’ll use it on my other cars as well.
The old filters were manufactured 3/05 but the fluid looked pretty good. I drained 7 gal and refilled the same amount. I’ll use the shiftpad to double check next time out once the transmission is fully warmed up. Not a bad job overall.

I only trust GPS in the air, and they are updated every 28 days, and approved for Instrument flying, and are very very accurate, even vertically.
Unfortunately, those systems are not available( at reasonable prices ) for Truck/buses.
On the ground, my iphone/ipad works as good as anything I’ve used, the Google map app along with the Sat view as Jon mentioned are great. The one Gil mentioned would be my choice for an RV, if I was going to buy one just for that purpose.
A CB radio still works good talking to the Truckers, if you have a good one, and can talk to them “like one of them”, especially in a pinch.

And DO NOT remove the filter bolts from a hot or warm transmission…cold only. Prevost tech removed one bolt along with the threads from the case of my warm trans and I was told by the more senior Prevost tech this is not uncommon. There is a repair kit, but…
