Where to buy parts for Kohler Generators
Trying to find a place to buy replacement parts for a Kohler 20CCO generator and having no luck.
Anyone have any good sources for spare parts? Specifically replacement hoses?

If you have the Kohler part numbers, try NAPA with there cross reference library.

That’s part of the problem… I dont have a parts manual and cant find a parts distributor that has online parts fiche.
Thinking I will take the hose off and bring it to NAPA and see what they can do.
Will also look around to see if I can get a parts manual (Amazon listing shows it not being available, but I am sure they come up every once in a while).

Hoses are a generic item. Because of that anytime I need any type of hose I just bring the old one, along with a description of its purpose (fuel, oil coolant, air, hydraulic. etc.) to my local hose shop. I imagine in every city there is a shop that specializes in hoses and will fabricate an exact replacement. I have never failed to have one I needed made by the shop in Knoxville.

There wasn’t a generator manual in the coach when you bought? Have you tried Liberty to see if they can get a manual for you?

The manuals I have include a manual for the generator (Operation and Installation manual as well as safety precations manual) but not the parts manual. THe operations/installation manual doesnt provide any part numbers.

Google “Nixon Power Services” – for a location near you. They specialize in Gen repair and stock some Kohler Parts/

Checked KohlerPower.com, they seem to only support (on their website) newer generators.

Will be calling Nixon Power in Lawrencville tomorrow (closed on weekends) and see about getting parts from them (they are the authorized service center listed on KohlerPower.com).
Seems someone tightened the hose clamp too much, cutting into the hose and eventually splitting it.

If I am seeing that correctly that hose is the air intake and likely available at any NAPA store.

Looking at your picture shows wire re-enforced or multi layer re-enforced… used on suction side or high output . Sold by the foot.
To eliminate that problem make your new hose slightly longer. Another thing often done is double clamps, if the receiving pipe end has the room.
You can find that type of hose at a marine dealer, some NAPA auto parts stores.
Sold by the foot try to locate replacement from vendor that has fresh hose. Not dried out from sitting on the shelf, often the case.
Taking the hose off will help get the right type, info is usually stamped on the outside.

Its a bit ironic that Al and Jon both suggest NAPA. I just suggested on this thread to visit Nixon Power BUT I just bought a fuel pump for my Kohler generator through the local NaPa Store. Very helpful folks.
Go Figure.

I would have suggested Nixon for a fuel pump until Roger showed me his replacement fuel pump from NAPA that was less than 1/3 of the one I bought from Nixon.
I would have thought it to be proprietary but thanks to Roger I now know different.

Pull the hose .. I get my stuff at Napa on hwy. 20 in Canton, they’re truck friendly.. Also the one over in Kennesaw used to be real good.

Actually just got back from NAPA in Woodstock and Marietta. No
luck at either. Marrietta was at least willing to go look in the back to
see if anything would work. He found a coolant hose that would sort of
work with some trimming, but being this is coming off the head and going to the
exhaust, I am thinking the coolant hose may not be the proper
application. Will talk with Nixon tomorrow and if they can’t help me out,
call Liberty.As you can see the hose is tapered and curved (big end goes on
the engine side, small end on the exhaust. Believe this is to scavenge unburnt
exhaust and re-burn it in the exhaust).

Coolant hose is not suggested to use in this application.
Appears to be heavy duty thread type hose commonlly used in marine service, not seeing any wire on your hose.
Custom hose made be heating in very hot water until they matched the large outside diameter probably on the bench. Finding a piece of pipe same size to act as a form on your bench.
If the end difference is 1/4—3/8 inch inside diameter thread hose can be easily stretched.
In this type of hose service. We have done this on many marine applications. The thinking… LESS connections and clamps the better.
Custom hose built because it’s easy, less expense. Your hose appears to short to use a copper metal reducer sleeve.
