On my previous coach and the one I have now I installed a foot switch to activate the Jake brake.
The switch I used on present coach is an electric trooling motor foot switch.
A Pac brake foot switch will work or Jacob Vechicle Systems have the one I used on my previous coach.
The switch has to activate both the high and low jake coils.

OK heres the deal. I worked on the SOB all day and the flush system is back in service and all buttoned up. I pulled the panels on the left side and traced the line all the way to the right side of the tank. The nozzle is installed in the tank behind the front inverter. Pulled the inverter and then the line off the nozzle and found the nozzle all full of garbage and the holes stopped up. Cleaned it out and blew it out with air and ran a piece of 41 safety wire through all the holes. Blew it out some more and flushed out the line. Put it all back together and installed a washing machine hose conical screen in the inlet. Hooked up the hose and it works like new. A full day job but now I’ve got a clean black water tank. Should be good for at least another fifteen years. I hope I am.

We go to Hearthside at least once every summer and could easily see a mini PC no rally rally there. It really is beautiful and located in a wonderful area. Mid to late June anyone?

The discount afforded by Blue Beacon is appreciated. Is gives us an alternative to busting our chops when we can’t, just don’t want to or abbosutely need their help.
Thank you Blue Beacon and Jon for helping us. It is most appreciated. It also frees up extra dollars for those never ending threats of dues increases.

Mount was from Best Buy and the TV is about 30 or 32, don’t remember.

Dave,
I have an access door under the dinette for accessing the cruiseair filter, rear of fridge and power receptacle. You can reach the back of the fridge water connection. Did I mention, unlike the Liberty guys, we don’t have to remove the fridge to clean the cruiseair filter or have access to the water line or power:) That should get some comments.

Don’t send Tom any money. He will just run out and buy another bus with it.

Ok. Here’s all that I know. Mine was working fine, then all of a suden it wouldn’t take any water and now that I can’t flush it out the quantity indication is not working right. Probably from being dirty. If it was the spray nozzle I think that it would have quit gradually. I talked to Jim Keller about it this week-end and he said that there is a check valve and that it’s gotten to from the right side of the coach and that it’s not easy to get to it. I’m sure that the system has a check valve to keep it from flowing back to the inlet if the tank got full enough. Any schematics or photos or other info would be appreciated. If the check valve can be found then maybe it could be fixed simplt by malitizing it.
When I got my coach a few weeks ago the water system wouldn’t take any street (city) water. I found that the pressure regulator was stuck closed. Malitizing it had no effect so I had to remove it, free it up and lubricate it and now it works fine. Again, since mine worked fine one day and then on the next use wouldn’t allow any water at all through the system I think that there must be a stuck valve in the system. Access to mine is exactly as described by Charles.
One more thing. There is a spring loaded check valve in the city water inlet line just before the pressure regulator. I cleaned it also and that’s the type of check valve that I would expect the flush system to have.
And George, yes I would love to have a picture of the schematic.

The poly tanks in my Parliament are good as new at 9 years. No dis-similar metals for corrosion.

Careful. With all these not-so-old buses about, dues might be increasing to take advantage of members newfound wealth!

Just for grins I played with some numbers. The claim is a fuel savings of 10 to 15%.
Assume the refueling requires 160 gallons (because that is a multiple of the one ounce per 10 gallons they list and it is available in quantities of 8, 32, or 128 ounces) . At $22.50 for 16 ounces, based on the 32 ounce price, if the fuel mileage increases by just 10% there is a net savings of about $220 each time you refuel and use Desl-Shock.
That is based on approximate fuel prices of $2.80 a gallon. The savings are more if fuel increases n price, less if it decreases.
However I have been doing things to my engine to reduce fuel consumption and I can say confidently a 10% savings is difficult to achieve. I’m not saying it cannot be done, but it isn’t easy. My mileage is up from the 5.9 MPG baseline to 6.2. I am evaluating another change and it might even be better than that but I don’t have enough miles and gallons yet to say for sure. With each change made I am looking at potential improvements in mileage in tenths of a MPG. Right now I am getting claims from a company that a device they sell will improve my mileage by 10 to 35%. From what I can determine its cost is $3600, but I can have it for $1800. So in about 9 years I might break even. Right now Desl-Shock looks like a real good deal.
I just have to get past the sense that claims of improvements to mileage are fertilizer for my garden.
