Discount Option For Consideration
Posted by Tommy on February 21, 2015 at 8:48 pmWitout a doubt our current discount program with Love’s and NAPA are added value for the PC members. Jon is are always asking for ideas, so I’m throwing this one out there to kick around.
Although I prefer to wash my own coach, there are times when weather, time and plain old fatigue just don’t fit into my schedule to wash the coach and/or toad. Blue Beacon Truck Wash provides me an option which I occasionaly rely upon. Although the results don’t measure up to my own wash job it is a great alternative. I don’t know how many members utilize them but if interest is there and Blue Beacon is wanting our business it may be worth pursuing.

The email to Blue Beacon was sent. It gave me a thought for all of you. If you have ideas on products or services that our members use or benefit from do not hesitate to contact those companies, tell them about PC and see if they will offer a discount.
Our standard practice has been to offer free advertising if the discounts are substantial and a benefit to our members.
To help them understand the benefits to them let them know we are 1800 strong and our monthly web site activity is substantial. We can provide them with up to date data.

Thanks to Tommy for his idea about Blue Beacon.
I have gotten an email from them and expect to be talking to them about their offer of a discount program today. They are open to the idea and we are now going to discuss the details. Keep the ideas coming.

Like you, sometimes it is a good option. A discount would be appreciated.

Glad I bypassed the Blue Beacon in Amarillo this afternoon… Please hurry with the discount, my coach needs a bath.
Thanks for the effort!!!

Stand by Mike, Jon has been working 24/7 for your convenience and has struck a deal.

At 30-odd dollars, (if I’m reading the price list correctly) it hardly seems worth getting the bucket and sponge out if you are anywhere near one of their locations. I know it’s ony a wash and not ‘detailing’ but how many of us detail our cars on a Sunday morning rather than just give them a quick lick with the sponge?
I know where I’ll be going (at least some of the time) if it’s convenient when the day finally arrives! And with the 50% discount that Jon is negotiating…..

At some point I hope we reach a large enough group that we would have the clout to take on Direct TV and get their mind right with regard to RV needs and lifestyle. FMCA seems reluctant to pick that fight.

We have a very nice offer from Sam Browning of Blue Beacon and as soon as we each agree on some language all the details will be posted.
This is as good a time as any to repeat that none of the programs we are able to put together would ever happen without the support of PC members. It is hoped as many of you as possible will take advantage of the programs and that you all let our advertisers know you heard about them on PC. If it sounds like we are asking you to promote PC, it is because that is what we are doing.
Individually we have no clout or influence on anyone, but as you have all seen the size of our membership and the participation of our members in the various programs enables Tom and I to do what we have been doing. I want everyone to be very clear on the fact if someone you think is going to benefit our members and our member’s can benefit them please let them know they will get free advertising on the PC site in exchange for discounts or special member benefits. We have done this with fuel, tires, NAPA parts, RV resorts and now bus washes. We trust you to bring any and all suggestions to our attention for the benefit of all our members.
We said from the beginning PC was to be a supplement to all other Prevost clubs or organizations and it was intended for our collective strength to provide member benefits and that is exactly what is happening.
Obviously we are losing revenue from giving away free advertising, so effective immediately the dues have doubled. Tom wants to triple them, but I have prevailed.

Since according to Tom, Jon has been involved in what appears to be marathon negotiations with the bus wash company, I wonder if the discount will be available to owners of Liberty, Vantare, Country Coach, Millenium, American Coach, Angola, Beaver, Vogue, etc. conversions. Please advise.
There is apparently a Blue Wash facility not too far from our home which I wasn’t aware of. Had it not been for PC, I probably would not have known about it! Keep up the good work!

No negotiations. Blue Beacon stepped up to the table and offered a discount. Our discussions are relating ot the logistics of getting the cards in everyone’s hands and making sure everyone realizes Blue Beacon is as concerned about proper washing techniques for our coaches as we are.
They are pros and are going to do a great job for our member’s coaches.

Thanks Jon for being all over this and to Blue Beacon for their being so receptive. I’m sure we will continue to utilize their serviaces even more, do appreciate their discount and will certainly reference my and PC’s appreciation.
I also agree with Ronald. With all this extra time on our hands it may be worthwwhile PC approaching Pfizer.
