I had the opportunity of meeting Peter this past Tuesday at Jeff’s shop. He came over to me and we immediately talked about my coach and he encouraged me to get my hands dirty and not to get intimidated by the work at hand. I could tell instantly of his genuine helpful character. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I am glad to hear that you like the painting of “Olivia” …! Like you, I have picked-up some stories on the web and this included the reference to Lady Gaga.

I was trying to come-up with yet another story but then decided to just give you the facts.

Being sailors, we do what sailors do. We gave the bus a name. It is Olivia Las Vegas.

Olivia refers to the artist whose painting you have seen on the bus. Olivia De Berardinis is a California artist best known for her pin-up art and for having or having had one of her paintings/drawings in Playboy magazine every month.

You can view some of her work on her website http://www.eolivia.com

She named the painting “Banshee” and if you search her site using this name, you will be taken to a page where you can see more of Olivia in all her glory.

In addition to having Olivia supersized on our bus, we do have her tees, posters and postcards, too.

Her website is quite interesting to explore.

We added the extension Las Vegas because Teschner, the converter, did have a showroom there where our bus, being Teschner’s show coach, was on display.

The painter sold a license to Teschner allowing them to reproduce her art. The price? Six figures.

I did speak to the artist in Germany who airbrushed the painting on the bus and do have a couple of photos of his work in progress.

Roundabout 2 years ago, we were featured on the Travel Channel as part of the “Mega RV Showdown” series.

They sent 2 camera men, a producer and a helper and we were filmed for 12 hours. This was reduced to 4 minutes and 19 seconds when the episode aired. We came in 2nd place out of 10.

I am still waiting for the hordes asking for my autograph …

If we were to receive 50 cents for every photo taken of our bus, we could fill the tank at least once.

Needless to say, we are being asked many questions wherever we stop. Most of the time it is fun talking to people. Sometimes, though, people can be very inquisitive and become a nuisance. In that case, I tell them that I am just the driver and would loose my job if I were to reveal who is in the coach. That shuts them up.

    Cheers,

    Ronald

As I’ve posted before, our coach wandered between the lines on the Interstate from the very first time I drove it. Thinking it was a problem with the steering box I was headed in that direction for a “fix” until I mentioned the problem to Peter Campbell while I was at ETLC a few months after we bought the coach. He explained to me what was causing the problem (not the steering box) and that I needed a three axles alingment which I had done at Prevost Jacksonville. Tech showed me how “far out” my drive axles were (“someone” had misaligned the drive axle after the caoch left the factory and before I bought it). Solved the problem.

Interesting (and frustrating) that the axles on the older coaches can’t be adjusted. You’d think that radius rods would have adjustable rod ends on them. Maybe someone from Prevost will jump in and explain the logic of the older coaches.

    Davy,

Did I understand you right? We not only haven’t charged you anything for dues, and we gave you $100?

How pathetic is this site? No wonder we have registrants from all over the world trying to get passwords.

Very cool! Makes me wonder which of our busses in 75 years will be proudly on display totally pristine and which will be the rusty wrecks sitting in the scrap field.

Ok I got my computer back on the same page finally. I reset my network settings and it’s better than it has been for months!

Ok these are the pics that I took two days ago at SnF. If you have any further questions just ask.

Ok the auction buildings are the large hangers in the center. The Corn Roast is in the upper right corner. The Jet Way is along the top right corner. The Cessna buuilding is the small pink roof below the Jet Way. The Raider club would be just off the picture in the bottom right corner. Again the furthist distance between all of thes points is .4 miles.

This is a good picture of the Jet Way, Cessna Building and the Raider Club.

    Corn Roast

Small stage at the Corn Roast. Tom and Jon have promised to entertain us from here one night!!!! Let’s hold them to it:)

I will try to be clear here.

    1) The part number in Tom’s post above, WPX356-516 is incorrect, as it is incorrect on the website he got it from. It should be WPX350-516.

    2) WPX350-516 is the incorrect part for the DBW 2020. It is correct for DBW 2010. The difference is the inside diameter. The 2010 takes 4/16″ (6mm) diameter, while the 2020 takes 5/16″ (8mm) diameter. So be careful when shopping at web site “heat my rv”, because they say that the 350-516 will fit both the 2010 and the 2020.

    3) The correct part number for DBW 2020 is W397-563. And this part number has been superseded by part number 1320044A. They are available at web site suremarineservice for $6.70 each half clutch. Their web site says they have only one left. I just talked to their warehouse and they actually have many, and I got four coming.

So if anyone needs a pair of 350-516, I have them. Apparently the aquahots use the DBW 2010.
