Gadget Guru earns award for vintage RV bus
NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. — Andy Pargh, known as the Gadget Guru, took home a People’s Choice Award for his 1957 Flxible Starliner while participating in the 2017 Concours d’Elegance Show in Boca Raton, Fla.
“This is the only award that is voted on by the attendees and, to my knowledge, it’s the first time a bus has taken this honor over the vintage automobiles on display,” Pargh told RV Daily Report.
The Concours d’Elegance is is one of the oldest and best known car competitions and is held annually in 20 cities around the world. The Boca Raton event raised $9.2 million for Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County.
It took place at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. Festivities included an automobile auction, a grand gala dinner and a special performance by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, according to a news report from WSVN-TV.

The Concours is always a well organized and fun event. I think the Judges were a bit surprised when a bus, for the first time, took the People’s Choice Award.

That MAY be the bus at the BB King Museum in Indianola.

B.B. King’s 1957 Starliner was the first off the line, but it was stolen in 1966. It’s suspected it was sold off for parts. King’s bus was serial # 30926 and my bus is # 30955. Here’s an interesting story of the remaining Flxible Starliners:

Very cool! Makes me wonder which of our busses in 75 years will be proudly on display totally pristine and which will be the rusty wrecks sitting in the scrap field.
