Whether it is true or not, I just like to take the coach out once a month. I can always find some excuse to go driving!

Note……. There is limited 50 amp power, Jeff only has so many plugs, so get on the list early or you may find yourself dry camping. That’s not all bad in Oct in TN, weather and temps are usually great.

During the slide presentations, my fellow non sliders will enjoy the campfire, adult beverages, snacks and discussions about what we’re going to do with all the money we have saved by not having to replace the 50000 bicycle tube slide seals. How’s that George.:)

Thanks so much for the offer Geo! I appreciate your generosity. But having having a Liberty and pulling a Bravo trailer, I want only the best for the best and plan on going with all the latest and greatest once Jon puts his stamp of approval on the Plus system, fancy monitors, and booster system.

    Andrew,

You might want to take a look at this DIY’er video of a two story passenger bus conversion.

Not all tanks have sensors and some of those that do may not need cleaning but calibration which is why no answer is going to be helpful until we know something, like the conversion or type of tank level sensor.

I would doubt it very seriously if a converter would do a coach like described…Especially not Liberty, Marathon,Millenium……It is too big of a time commitment for them……As Jon said you will have a lot of money in something…You are better off to get something you like that is already converted and then have it remodeled to fit your needs..

If you are planning to make a 3d model of the layout you also have the option to have a scaled model made via 3d printing so you have something to hold in your hand and review.

When I went to finally make a deal on my 95/96 XL it was showing an EPROM reading. The salesman told me it was “Nothing, they all do that.” I insisted it be checked out and repaired before puchasing and wrote it into my offer.

The Detroit guy plugged in behind the driver’s seat and tried to “flash” the memory. While it was processing he explained that it the ECM would probably last for years with that error. It would likely “flash” fine but if it kicked out before finishing, the ECM would have to be replaced.

The salesman sat in a chair and chewed his fingernails. The ECM was about 90% done when the flash failed. The salesman got up and walked out of the coach without a word, although the slamming door said it all!

The Detroit guy said, “I am surprised it failed but I take it from the salesman’s reaction, they must be paying for the new one!” YEP!

I got two responses when I pressed about tire dressing knowing some among us trowel the stuff on for the shine.

The first was a serious answer and as it says in the information provided keep them clean with soap and water. The second response was a big grin and the comment they like to see folks use tire dressing because they like to sell tire. Jim had the correct response.

There are some things on our coaches we can stretch because the downside is not dangerous or financially risky.

But there are two things as owners we really need to think about not not pushing the limits. The obvious one is tires. Just because a tire looks good when it ages does not mean it continues to be safe. They age at which it has the potential to be unsafe is somewhere around 5 to 7 years. So many factors influence that it appears the decision of when to replace lies with the owner, but somewhere within that age range the tires have outlived their usefulness according to the people that design and build them. You do need to consider the cost of replacement in your budget.

As an owner you can greatly improve the lifespan of your tires by caring for them such as avoiding the use of tire dressings, never allowing the tire pressures to get low and exercising them often. Since low pressures can kill a tire I would urge the use of a tire pressure monitoring system because a pre-trip inspection is not going to help you if you pick up a nail shortly after you start driving and before the next rest stop your tirepressure is dangeously low.

The second item that relates to cost is batteries. House batteries are expensive, but stretching their life to an extent is possible by keeping them charged according to the manufacturer’s requirements. Deep discharges will shorten their life. But even if well maintained pushing their usefull life can get expensive. Adding a sixth year to a set of five year old batteries may not only be possible, and it will save some dollars, but it has risks.

There have been far too many threads in which owners have experienced unusual electrical system problems to the point where they have even sent in inverters to be rebuilt or even bought new inverters, only to find out a battery has failed and it was masking its failure by looking an acting like the problems were caused by inverters or other electrical system issues.

If you do opt to stretch the limits of you components on the coach that is your choice, but when you do try to understand there are risks that will offset the rewards of getting another year or two of life.

Sorry to hear Jeff, and all of Peter’s friends and family.

I did not know Peter personally, but had many conversations with him on the forum. He was always nice, prompt, and very knowledgeable, and always willing to help.

He will be missed by all.

I’ll help co-host and maybe we can see if we can get some of these Prevost folks here to assist with some of the tasks like parking.
