2017 SEMINAR(S)
We have had a couple of false starts with the last two scheduled seminars and had to cancel as a result of lack of members who could attend.
Jeff, Tom and I discussed having a seminar again and were thinking of some weekend in October. We hope we can stir up enough interest to get a full class because this next seminar is going to have a lot of things going for it. Here are a few highlights.
It will be at East Tennessee Luxury Coach and the weather in TN that time of year is spectacular and the color from the changing leaves, especially in the Smokies draws visitors from all around. The advantage of having it at ETLC is thanks to Jeff Rowe he dedicates his shop to the PC seminar and all attendees get to see the underside of typical coaches. While the coaches are up in the air all attendees will learn the things to know about how to maintain and inspect the coach so they or their techs can insure the reliability and safety of the coach.
Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about Prevost slides and how to deal with possible issues. The slide demonstration is going to be a special presentation especially important for those whose coaches have slides so their operation under unusual circumstances can be seen.
There will be a towing demonstration so if you ever have to be towed you will know how it is to be done and will be able to insure the operator does not damage your coach. We have plans to have the folks from Inverter Services discuss inverters, their differences and how to get the most out of them. You will come away from this session with a much better understanding of how your inverters work and how to get the most from them.
We will have a brake demonstration so you can see what happens when you apply or release your service or parking brakes, and it will be a part of the pre-trip brake inspection session so you will understand what the gauges are telling you.
There will be discussions of common problems and how to deal with them. You will participate in “what-if” scenarios so when something does break or stop working you will feel more comfortable knowing you have options.
But the best part of the seminar is that for the first time we will have Bill Jensen from Prevost participating. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to meet Bill you will be impressed. Bill is a long term manager responsible for Prevost service on conversion coaches. He has an extensive amount of experience going back many years and can answer any questions relating to the Prevost chassis. He contributes to the PC forum with his excellent responses to hard questions and at the seminar he can and will field any questions attendees may have regarding their specific chassis. The greatest aspect of having Bill participate is he not only knows everything, he is truly a very nice guy and we are glad he is willing to help us. (Bill may claim to be retired, but despite that we are truly fortunate he is willing to help us with the seminar)
So the bottom line is if you wanted to attend one of the seminars this is the one. We do need at least 20 attendees. We may cut off attendance at that number because if the number of attendees gets to large it is difficult to show the underside of coaches so everyone can see everything. If you have an interest let us know, and if a particular weekend is better let us know also because we need to set a date to accomodate as many as possible and to insure our attendance needs are met.
As usual we will begin with a Friday evening meal with wine, beer and soft drinks as a meet and greet. We work hard Saturday and until mid afternoon Sunday, with all meals included. Attendees will have 50 amp power. There will be a dump station on site as well as access to water.

middle of October works for me. Do I get a discount for being the first to sign up?

I would have signed up for at least one of the last two but was unable due to work and then an elderly dog issue. The first two weeks of October are best for me if you are taking requests. Bill Jenson is like icing on the cake.Tom will you be providing adult beverages during the slide seminar for those of us who have conquered that problem?

Note……. There is limited 50 amp power, Jeff only has so many plugs, so get on the list early or you may find yourself dry camping. That’s not all bad in Oct in TN, weather and temps are usually great.
During the slide presentations, my fellow non sliders will enjoy the campfire, adult beverages, snacks and discussions about what we’re going to do with all the money we have saved by not having to replace the 50000 bicycle tube slide seals. How’s that George.:)

Count me in Jon, I’ll be there for sure! As for Fred and that discount stuff (teachers pet), others could have been first if he wasn’t! What?
Oh and the 30th is my birthday so let Fred eat cake!

Since H.J. is having a birthday in October, lets all get together and take up a collection to pay his PC dues for a year. That would be a nice birthday present.

We will be there. The first two weeks of October will work with apreference for the second week. -
We’re newbies to the community and still on a big learning curve. We look forward to the seminars and meeting everyone. Early October is best for us.
