Newell is up to 1674 coaches built to date.

Newell’s are not sequential and they have, on occasion, skipped numbers when new models have been released.

Seeing that red hose to replace the blue one gives me a warm toasty feeling knowing it is the right one.

Everyone whose EGR coach has blue hoses on the section between the turbo and the intercooler should be especially vigilant and inspect those hoses as part of a pre-trip inspection. Replace any hoses that are questionable with hoses rated for 500 degrees continuous operation.

Thanks all. We waited for the wind to drop to a constant lower speed and was happily surprised at how smooth it went. Strangely, the winds before and after the bridge had a much more noticeable impact. What an impressive bridge.

    Dan,

Not knowing what unit he has, the condensation drain line could be plugged up, some even have pumps. Also, the A/C base gasket is a major source of water leaks.

The tubes are under the floor.

To access them from the Front, drop the front bumper and look up and aft. You will see air lines and other things going up towards where the PVC pipes are.

In the rear, you have to be under the bus and look at the bulkhead in from of the drive axle. The tubes will be up high, just under the floor.

I pushed a fish tape from the rear to the front, tied on a pull cord to the fish tape, then pulled the cables from the rear.

All warnings about not get under the bus without proper supports applies.

The casino there in Ruidoso is also an excellent place to stay. Still the middle of nowhere, but come on, it’s Ruidoso!

    Good information everyone, thank you.

Ok, “now for the rest of the story”. I came down Rabbit Ear Pass in Colorado into Steamboat Springs in 3rd gear full Jake on, I could not get the perfect spot ( no brakes, no throttle). So, I was braking every 30 seconds or so to bring down my rpms. At the bottom of the mountain I had hot brakes. The Jake did not seem to be doing it’s job. In hindsight I should have dropped to second gear.

We got to Coburg, Oregon and when to Northwest Freightliner, a Detroit Diesel and Allison shop. An “engine guy, a transmission guy” and a computer took the coach for a drive. Transmission was fine, but the Jake was not working to its fullest according to the DEC. Their schedule and my schedule did not lineup to have them get into the engine.

The transmission guy asked if it was set to down shift automatically, I said I did not think so because I was manually downshifting. He offered to reprogram it to auto downshift and asked how aggressive I wanted it. Not having a point of reference, I had him set it to 2nd gear. I did this most aggressive setting because I still had the Rockies between me and home in Missouri. It is an interesting program setting. Today, coming down Vail Pass on I-70 into Frisco, Colorado everything worked great. Third gear full Jake, I only braked once or twice. Nice, smooth, safe descent. I will be having American Fleet fix the Jake. They are in my home town of Springfield, Missouri. I will make a decision about were to have my transmission programmed to after the Jake is fixed.

We recently switched over to a pellet grill(also can be a smoker)

its made by Green Mountain and the portable model is the Davy Crockett. We saw it at a car show and bought the show model from the vendor.

The legs pivot up and become carrying handles and it fits nicely in any bay.

    I’d give it a strong 9

    (see pix)

    good luck

Ive learned a lot from this thread, and the most important thing is to never buy a 2000 marathon #594.

West bound on I-70 at gross weight leaving Eisenhower tunnel Per, you will be braking. Of course mine will never see 2500. Ever watch your boost while on the jake, heat is being made.

Did you add the campground and scenic route to the PC map?
