We recently switched over to a pellet grill(also can be a smoker)

its made by Green Mountain and the portable model is the Davy Crockett. We saw it at a car show and bought the show model from the vendor.

The legs pivot up and become carrying handles and it fits nicely in any bay.

I’d give it a strong 9

The Weber Q1000s are great. Compact, good performance and heat control.

I second the weber for easy, compact options. The GM Davy crocket is good. But still not as compact and not as simple (this coming from a guy that uses his treager more then should be allowed by federal law).

I looked at the discontinued treager tailgater, the GM Davy crocket and still went with the weber Q. I do miss my smoker when I’m on the road, but the Q is just easier for traveling.

Now if you want built-in? Well.that’s a different story.

On the weber Q, don’t use a grill matt. Just doesn’t work, especially in amarillo where the wind never stops!
