I feel like it’s a bit of a cop out to require the receipt – or to only warrant your product to the first owner.

I have the same discrepancy comparing dip stick markings with shift pad read outs. I’m way overfilled according to the dip stick but right on the money when checking with the shift pad. So far I’m not relying on the dip stick markings for more than just making sure there is oil in the transmission before I start the engine. That is one heck of a long flexible dip stick; can’t be that accurate.

Could the shift pad sensor be wrong? I do have a small oil leak at the transmission output shaft when driving, none when parked. I put 7 gallons of oil in the transmission last time I changed oil and filters. Is that about right?

    OK,
you can blame me. You can’t image how many bullshit requests I get
daily on Facebook and I just don’t have the time to keep up. I always
look at the person requesting a sign-up and if I don’t see anything
that would indicate they’re interests are bus related, I ignore them.
I can’t remember all the names, so if I missed your request, I’ll
attempt to catch up. Further, I’m a Facebook novice, so if you
sent me a message, chances are I wouldn’t even know were to look.

    The
Facebook page is a great way socialize and we want it to grow
accordingly. So, anyone out there that wants to be added as an admin
person and is Facebook savvy, send me an e-mail, I could use the
help. I asked Jeff to help and he told me to bite him.

PS – Jon is no help, he has troulble accessing Facebook on his flip phone even when it’s on.

I hope you boys can schedule the second one this year. I wish I could have been there to learn more. I saw all the pictures of the busses there and just wonder how much diesel was burned over the weekend!! I know keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum is of great importance..

    Hope all y’all had fun!

OSBMXER, Welcome aboard. As you continue to read and research a possible puchase, keep in mind that these are the best engineered and robust of this type of vehicle on the planet. The support network from Prevost itself to the converters and repair and maintainance providers and the mfr’s and service companies that provide much of the onboard equipment is second to none. The help from members on this site is unmatched. You will not be stranded and very few of us have ever been towed. Owners of plastic are the ones without a network for the most part and frquently hung out to dry. I have no idea where you got the impression that these things need major engine work in 100-150K. Absolutely not true and major engine problems on a Detroit Series 60 are extremely rare. Probably 95-98% of these shells are turned into seated busses and Entertainers and they frequently rack up miles to a million or more. Most engine failures can be traced to poor maintainance(especially cooling system) or out and out abuse or neglect. That is one reason that you will see stressed over and over on this site to get records or have a PDI done and after puchase zero everything out. Keep reading and asking questions, as Jon says….you might even get a correct answer once in a while. Good luckon your search. Geo.

The tanks in question are aluminum and aluminum will not last long in a plumbing system.

The slide seals are a maintenance item. The only inspection I can think of that will not involve some disassembly of the coach slide is to verify the seals are holding pressure. Since a lot of coaches now have slides and we don’t see a lot of posts relating to slide seal replacement that means they have a relatively long life, or nobody is talking about it.

Bought new headlight units from Prevost due to lenses being too crazed to polish. Decided on Superbright LED headlight bulb conversion. All went well until discovering I can’t get to the outside of the right H.L. enclosure. Is it open and accessable behind the stair well forward panel? Is that panel a PIA to remove? The power supply for the Superbrights needs to mount next to the wire access hole for the headlight. Thanks in advance.

We have had a fairly unconventional path to our Prevost. After starting out tenting on fishing trips in our twenties, our first testing the waters of motorhoming came ironically through what my golf buddies and I deemed the Motorhome Timeshare.

My wife and I always wanted one but were unsure we would like it. The MH Timeshare provided us the perfect opportunity to give it a shot. Splitting the cost, insurance and maintenance expenses six ways, on a then new 1997 Monaco Windsor through the LLC worked great. Great for us! After a calmady of accidents, acts of mother nature and one of the shareholders laying it on its side, the group discussed dissolving the LLC and liquidating “the asset?”. After two years they all wanted out except Cli and I. We purchased the coach for 50% of the wholesale value and named it Tiger Pause.

It would take me 7 1/2 innings of a baseball game to tell the story. Its a story which would make the movies RV and Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation look like child’s play. We traded the snake bitten coach for a used 2000 Windsor, then purchased his 2002 from the same gentleman. Great coach till we lost it in a fire where stored. We then replaced it with an ’04 Dynasty.

In spring of ’13 my neighbor and good friend Brady, a fellow PC member, purchased his first coach an ’03 Liberty. I drueled all over it on day one and told him if he ever got rid of it to give us first right of refusal. In February of last year he told me he wanted to upgrade and asked if we were still interested in buying. Cli and I intended in buying a Prevost after I retired in July of this year. To say the least we bought Tiger Pause Vl in March of last year. We could not pass up an opportunity to purchase a Prevost in excellent condition and know the owners well.

Over the years we have had some quality coaches and tremendous times. The opportunity to continue our enjoyment in the premier chassis converted by one of the best is absolutely wonderful. Many times since buying the Prevost we have asked each other, why did we not do this sooner? The answer; “All part of the dream”.

Let me assure you of a couple of things.

First, if you insist on “data mining” our policy is to double your dues. I’m sorry to have to tell you that but Tom is the one that insists on it.

Second, in the Q&A sessions every single question will be answered. And some of the answers may actually be correct.

Is that a deal or what???????

I cranked up and traveled less than 50 miles yesterday. Before I did I uplugged this and cleaned boths sides of the connection and plugged it back in. I am assuming that is the sensor that may be going bad, on the side of the tank underneath the sight glass. Right?

Here is a picture of the whole side of the tank

This hose attached to the bottom of the tank leads over to this on the side of the engine.

This is where it goes on the driver’s side of the engine up high.

My Royale came with a battery tender installed by Royale. Seems like the best set up.
