Roger’s comments have to be noted as the best post today, and possibly forever.

Thank you for the good photos, Ralph, and glad you had an emergency fill! Cannot imagine (in my case) having that valve fail. Mine would be VERY tough and VERY time consuming to change on the road even if I carried a spare. Take care & Safe travels!

Is that possibly saying your basement door(s) are not locked?

I’ve seen forums discuss that it is often an indicator that the round rubber spacers on the inside of the door/hinge are missing, cracked or broken…more so, than that there is a problem with the actual bay lock.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable/experienced will advise you.

John, I think your coolant level codes are showing what I suspected and assuming that is the reason you shut off after 30 seconds that issue will be resolved by a new sensor.

I think the starter issue is unrelated and being lazy by nature I look for the low hanging fruit. By that i mean one problem that has been reported from time to time is the front/rear start selector switch. Before you tear into the coach too much, exercise that switch several times and then try to start from the front. If it will not engage the starter, leave the key on and try a rear start.

If that doesn’t work then you just have to see where the open circuit is going to the starter.

First a Thanks to Rudy, He also let others know. My Dh and I have used it since it was first introduced. The money saved has been signifcant and I have been able to pay for repairs to the coach.with it. Darn thing keeps breaking. Which.is why I continue to lurk here gaining knowledge.on Prevost.

The.more folk that use it ,will give TSD better negotiating power. plus as Jon said, it is so easy to use. I love fueling now. I loathed having to stand in line to start. Now, if we can find our Prevost.

This is my personal opinion based on years and years of stories told about converters and how well they treat their customers.

I would not hesitate. First, with respect to Millennium I have never heard a bad comment about them. All converters go overboard delivering coaches to customers and with competition so fierce they all do everything possible to do a good job.

    Good luck and congratulations.

Maybe things have changed, but to get Prevost to cover the delam repairs you had to be the original owner and the coach couldn’t be over 10 years old. Even then, the paint work was not covered and was owners responsibility.

Two points. A lighter coach XL, not necessarily the heavier XLII with a 12.7L driven carefully is more than capable of impressive MPGs. I consistently got 8 with my 97 45 foot XL until they messed with sulfur content and it dropped to a consistent 7.5 MPG.

My previous 5000 pound lighter coach with an 8V92 got a consistent 5.6.

My numbers are based on total gallons used and miles travelled over long periods of time, like a year or more.

As to being a serious consideration, lets pretend the average owner gets 6 MPG and travels 12,000 miles annually for 2000 gallons. If he got 8 he would save 500 gallons of purchases or at current discounted diesel prices less than $1000.

In terms of cost of ownership that barely moves the meter because the greatest expense is annual depreciation. Sadly no matter if we have a coach with almost zero depreciation or one with staggering depreciation, at the ed of the year they may cost the same to own. On one you eliminate depreciation, but pay for that savings with more needed repairs due to the coach age. With the newer coach you have depreciation, but a lot of the parts that age or wear out are still doing well and you do not have the expense of maintenance an older coach has.

As to the comments about Prevost screwing its customers whoever said that is not living in the real world. First, parts are not cheap anywhere. We can buy a lot of our bus parts at places other than Prevost and if we are happy with spending a few hours doing price comparisons and happy with some lesser quality parts we might do better than Prevost. But that is only on some parts. I have never been able to get better prices on air bags. I think they may sell them for less than anyone. I buy almost all my parts from Prevost, except for some that are priced out of line, like brake chambers I go elsewhere. My point is Prevost is not cheating us or screwing us. When I consider all I have bought from them, I really doubt if I could have saved enough to justify the time spent checking prices and making sure I got the right part.

I’ll bet that’s why I’ve been having so much trouble finding my RR suspension leak!

Any reasonably easy way to convert back to original from Prevost?
