Some of us don’t have all of the dues money you collect and can’t afford a real one 😉

Tom Smith told me about using 5% Acetic Acid (Vinegar)…. I dilute it with pure water and put it in a spray bottle. It really works well.
Thanks everyone for great suggestions about deionizers. Many choices.

Prevost has generally run spares in the conduits that go from front to rear but I don’t know specifically how to access them.
Maybe someone who has used the spares can be specific relating to their location.

Steve did you get new regulator installed and did it help voltage?

Harry, like Dan and Charles said, Gil Johnson rear LEDs, got mine Jan of 2017, $875 to my door, plug and play, easy install.

Drove 230 miles on our travel day pulling the tent trailer through hills. No problems with the coolant level or cooling. Yay!

I gripe about Oregon all the time but when I hear about emission dyno testing of old RV buses in CO I shake my head. Come to Oregon, no bus license, no testing, no sales tax, no use tax. Just stay away from Portland area and you’ll be fine.

Getting back to the original topic, I was thinking last night about my three coaches and I have had repairs and gremlins, yes, but when I consider them overall they have been incredibly reliable. So far I have driven our three coaches about 400,000 miles over 28 years.
There have been some issues that should have never happened and every coach is affected. I have had to replace a fan clutch on both my 97 and current 06 coach. I have a hard time accepting the fact the clutches are good for 100,000 miles. Similarly I replaced the charge air cooler on my current coach and that is absolutely inexcusable because a far batter CAC was available and that was known when Prevost built the coach.
Some repairs such as hub seals had to be made. All of my coaches have had at least one fail, but I cannot get too excited based on the fact 2 of my coaches had 250,000 miles when I sold them, and the current one has 150,000 miles.
I replaced two alternators.
I replaced 2 refrigerators, and the current one has had 3 service calls.
The flip side of this is I have had zero issues with the house systems such as the Crestron or Allan-Bradley systems. They are kind of scary when I think about them, but historically I have never had an issue with either.
All in all, I stick with my earlier response but that is based on coaches and a chassis that are far more basic than later models. The later the model year of the house and chassis the more complex they are and the greater potential for stuff to break. To get the convenience and features in the later model coaches we have to have a greater expectation of dealing with repairs.

Steve, ignore Tom. He is jealous because i have 2 slides and he only has one.
I use 5000 miles instead of 6200 for a service interval because it is too taxing trying to audit the dues money receipts that Tom keeps taking from me and think in multiples of 6200 to trigger my maintenance all at the same time.
My attitude is that since I am under the bus anyway I might as well change the oil. Right or wrong I come from the generation whose cars needed oil changes every few miles so it has become a habit that is hard to break. I still do 3000 or 4000 mile changes on my cars even though I use synthetics. I guess it is a knee jerk reaction like Tom waking up every day thinking I am going to buy a smart phone.
Anybody that wants my old oil can have it. Bring your own containers, and some coveralls and tools because to get it you will have to drain it. There ain’t no free lunches or oil. Actually I should mix it with my fuel to get some cheaper driving.

I am part owner of a RV repair facility. We don’t sell them, but service all makes and models.
It is horrendous what the RV mfg. put on the road. We have seen it all. We hardly do any mfg warranty work because our guys refuse to put it back together the factory did and demands us.
Sometimes hearth breaking to tell a young family that their “investment” buckled beyond repair because it’s a “hyperlite”. Or that the walls de-laminate because the mfg used cardboard to glue the filon on. (yes they use cardboard…)
I sold a near new 2014 Super C Freightliner M2. and bought a 1998 Marathon non slide. Could not be happier!
PS, our guys always say RV = Ruined Vacation…..

I pulled everything out of the second bay today and found the ruptured hose. The side blew out of the hose that used to run to the Aqua Hot like I supposed. It was pumping a lot of coolant in a hurry I would say.
