    Larry,

We switched from Verizon to Consumer Cellular. Consumer Cellular uses the AT&T and T-Mobile towers. We have been pleased with the service and cost. I have been on the service since August 2018 and switched my wife’s phone after Christmas. The only negative is an older iPad will not work with their system. The new iPad Pro will work with this system.

It must be really wet up there, we’ve parked lots of buses on the gravel at Seminar time with no issues.

We have been assured we will all be grouped in Alligator Circle. We have 38 sites available to us and sign up with Pandion Ridge now because as we near the rally dates the RV park will open up those sites for other guests.

This is going to be another fun rally. Don’t miss it. Age is not going to be a factor, yours or your coach’s.

Thanks Jon for responding, I have turned the AC unit on at the breaker panel but the touch panel does not light up, I have tried to push different buttons on the touch panel but no lights come on. It used to light up as soon as the breaker was turned on at the breaker panel.

    Thanks

I have the same generator. It is 83 amps at 240, but 166 at 120 so I can load up to 83 amps per leg.

I have had as much as 70 amps per leg, and when I am running all ACs, using the grille, and drying clothes it is common to see in excess of 50 amps per leg.

Larry, here is a dirty secret about coach buying that almost nobody will admit.

You have done your homework. You have asked questions, you have an understanding about what you think you want, you have your budget, and now you are ready to buy.

Despite all of the logic you will apply to defining the coach you want, the reality is if you are like all of us, you are going to look at a lot of coaches, either on the internet or in person, and when the coach you are going to buy is seen, you are going to have the “EUREKA” moment.

So like Tom says, pull the trigger and do not suffer paralysis by analysis. There is no perfect coach, you will never know all you need to know, and the only thing that counts is when you see your new coach for the first time all of your doubt will be gone, and you will know it is the coach for you.

One thing people that hesitate will realize is good coaches do not last in the market. The “dogs” that are for sale languish either because of their condition or unreasonable price or poor history. But the good coaches will always be sold to the people who have done their homework and are prepared to pull the trigger quickly.

    Thanks for the comments.

I don’t know where the amount of load comes from, perhaps RV legend handed down over decades.

A typical coach has more than enough potential load to make a generator work. All AC units, either cooling or heating, but ideally 2 to make cold and two to make heat. That will be about 50+ amps. Then turn on the electric cook top and outdoor grille if you have it, that can easily add 20 to 30 amps. With doing just that you are at about 50% of a 20KW. Turn on all the interior lights and set the inverters to max current draw. Start with a cold HW heater and draw hot water to keep the water pump and HW heater working a little.

Turn on the microwave, throw some wet towels in the dryer and turn it on, and keep opening the refrigerator door so it keeps running. All told you should be well above 120 amps, but even if you are at 80 to 100 you have made sure the generator is working.

The Stop Engine Light and alarm are critical because they alert you to an impending shut down and give you an opportunity to over ride the function long enough to get out of traffic and to a safe place. That is why I mentioned to find out of the light and audible alarm is working.

Sometimes a few extra seconds is all it takes to get to the shoulder of the road and having a warning before shut down is a critical safety feature.

And without a reader the light and audible alarm is how you can hear/see the code number being flashed.

Once the engine shuts down the over ride button will not restart it.

    Ron:

You don’t mention if the air is blowing. I’m not sure but it may be frozen if it’s very hot outside and you have the thermostat set low. Try turning ‘cool’ off and run the fan only on high for a while. Then try again.
