“This Guy” did not ask any advice in this post but rather posted a story about what was happening with my coach. I followed that up with what the likely problem was and that we were pleased to be safely at Prevost waiting for service. The responses I got included suggesting that finding a bus company to fix the problem would be better than having the factory service center do the work (where I am currently without brakes). Advice on doing a DOT Brake check AFTER the brakes have failed is not helpful either. I have asked questions in the past and gotten excellent responses and help in those cases. Not sure why things went sideways here.

I am not at all surprised by the last 2 responses. It might explain why I have received several PM’s asking for help or guidance as they did not want to be embarrassed by responses on this forum.
I drive my bus (I am not a commercial driver and have no interest in what a commercial driver should do) and I get it serviced every year or so. Hopefully, that will be Prevost but usually it’s not based on their limited service locations. Beyond that I just drive the bus. When it breaks I get it fixed. I service what I can, but what I can service is highly limited by location and skill set. I really don’t need someone to say I “should have” done something after whatever happened has already happened.

The brakes were working properly when we started up and while parked. We backed out of our spot and had to do a bit of manuvering to get out the storage facility gate. By the time we made that last turn we noticed the air pressure being extremely low. Parked the coach, set the parking brake and could hear the leak. The mechanic crawled under and put his hand of the part that was gushing air. Caged the brakes and towed us to Prevost.
I feel like this would be a much more inviting forum is a few of the members would stop talking down to other posters.

You definitely have a bad wear pattern. The low spot on the side of the tire compared to the deep thread you have in the center could be a balance issue or something in the front end.
That could influence the tears or you picked something up in that spot.
Do you have a shimmy at any speed?
Need to figure out what the bad wear pattern is caused by.

Am i correct in my understanding that a window that is over 20 years old failed and one of your first questions is who is liable?

You can buy the water sensor separately. About $12 on ebay. Ask me how I know. When changing filter I twisted off one lead despite disconnecting the wires.

My 02 was converted to the round lights by Xtreme Paint and Graphics in Texas. They swing out same as stock. One small hole on the exterior of the housing as stock allows a phillips head to reach the screw which allows the assembly to swing out for access.

That Safari password issue is a strange one, but it’s a minor hassle. I use Safari for most things and Chrome for some tabs I want to keep open separately. That’s the only reason I don’t just open PC in Chrome. There must be some glitch with the forum software, because PC is the only forum (or any other site) that has the issue for me on Safari. Hardly worth spending a lot of time on, but if there’s a way to keep us logged in for a longer time, that would be a welcome change. I’ve even lost posts that I was composing because my session appeared to time out while I was editing them. Maybe I should quit try to proofread so much.

Jon helped me understand a simple item. They are vents! Sometimes my brain seem to make simple things complicated.. Thanks Jon

Thanks Tom and Al.
Is there a way to load test the batteries individually while they’re disconnected?

“I was unaware when the kit is installed and operating properly the power steering is active and working. I was told by the dealer it only works as needed in response to sensor inputs to the wheels and various accelerometers. The intent is that when it is engaged, with the Jeep transfer case in neutral and ready to tow, the power steering works even with the engine off. Mine does not, despite explicitly following the kit instructions and my concern is if it is working I should be able to easily turn the wheel.”
That might not be a valid test of whether the EPAS is active or not. Just driving down the road under normal operations, EPAS can counteract road crown, steering pull, vibrations, etc. It is also the basis of active safety features such as lane keep assist, so it’s more than just power assist as it can actively steer the vehicle without driver input.
I am not familiar with this towing kit, but I would say that it is possible that the ECM responds to these “road input” sensors but the torque sensor in the steering column is being ignored. Perhaps an indicator light can be installed showing when the EPAS has power.

I agree 100% we should have manuals. In the case of my bus, the previous owner was not organized and really had no interest in any kind of Bus work or maintenance. He bought the bus in 2003, had the Bus for 18 years, put 10K miles on it and did basically nothing but put fuel in it. All the air bags, shocks were original, tires and all filters and fluids were dated 2003.

The norgren stack valve probably needs replaced and with your coach there is a chance that the control voltage for the valves is 12volt while the road position valve remains and 24 v as Liberty modifies that system.
