Dan, You won’t find the collective wisdom of POG here. We do have POG members here, but the wisdom here is the collective wisdom of over 1900 Prevost Community members.

There is a recomended source in Denver that will rebuild the heat exchanger with exact same original parts.

We have chosen to pull apart the existing unit and examine the failure and select other materials to prevent another failure in six years. We will send follow up info.

I knew you and Jon needed fuel money to get to ETLC in July.

Let Jeff have some of it for DONUTS and COFFE and the pretty young lady that will bring them to your coach every morning. HA !!!!!!!

we bought our 1991 XL 4 years ago with 52,000 miles on it and 25 or so hours on gen set. Been sitting for abought 7 years in barn. Like everybody says, tires, batteries, on ours fridge, tv,s, ac goodies, in house and engine, inverter, aquahot r&r and a hand full of other stuff upgrading. Just got back an hour ago from a 500 mile round trip. Priceless. Have 75,000 on it now. If you get it checked out, I didn’t, go for it. Ours drives like a Cadillac.

The following link gets you to the actual lamps and Tom has a source for the bezel. Seems to me one would need to have the bezel chrome plated to use with most of our XL’s. He also has some busses where he used an insert into the existing chrome frame.

Just went through the Montana thing with Bennett law office in Missoula. He sent me a packet and I read it cover to cover. Everything was there to what “could” happen. I talked to my accountant and he said go. I called to start the LLC and he asked what state I was in again. I told him Illinois. He said “my advise to you is to not do business with us if you live in Illinois. He said they were cracking down and I should take heed. I did……… I guess I will eat the taxes..

It can be done. We bought a ’99 Marathon with 152,000 miles and had no major unexpected issues the last 2 years and 12,000 miles. We did have to replace the house bank ($3k) after purchase. My fault, I should have caught that during the inspection. Suggest you stretch to the mid to late 90’s to get a Series 60 engine. Better fuel economy and support than the earlier 2 cycle engines.Take the time and run/test all systems before you hand over the $s.

    Good luck, Gerald

I have used my Nexiq reader just to get baseline data. I know what my boost, normal coolant temp, normal oil pressure and a variety of other measurements are and if I sense something has changed on my coach it is easy to plug in and see if something varies from normal.. Mine is an under dash hookup and I just have my wife read the data while I drive. My reader has plenty of cord so it works from the connector behind the seat as in my previous coach or under the dash as in the current one.

But I don’t bother with trying to read all the data available under normal conditions. It can drive you nuts if you become fixated on something.
