We actually have that feature already. The Map feature which can be accessed by clicking on the blue button above the forum topics allows members to post on the “RV Parks and Overnight Spots”

In fact I posted Tom’s address on the site and right now in his back yard is a 100 coach Prevost rally. Too bad about his lawn.

Here is a picture of the culprit - the backflow preventer.

My generator saga is offically over. After much trouble shooting, I discovered the backflow preventer was seized close. How this happened I have no idea, but after disassembly, cleaning, and reinstallation, it functioned correctly, and soooooo did the generator.

A huge thanks to all of you for help offered. This was a great opportunity to witness the kindness of this community, and learn more about my generator.

PS – the picture is upside down, and yes, the cobwebs are real!!

I asked all you big riggers about a dash cam a year ago and nobody answered my thread.

Now you want one but more thought is needed. Where you mount it is paramount for viewing. Mine is over the dash board low enough so it doesn’t catch my shade and gives good viewing but I had heard this from others and one thing that kills the camera is heat.

I burned mine up in a year. Take it I’m in a warm climate but it is something to think about when mounting. I wanted to put it by the center post somewhere but it interfered with the shade. Because of the way our front end is, it’s hard to put it in a good spot. The mounts are limited for what we need.

What a great idea, I know they would love to do that! Also, we are looking forward to seeing all
the nice PC folks and increasing our Liberty knowledge. Thanks for the super suggestion.

    Paul,

Yes.. Our very own Jon years ago had tons of stands made and many of us have them. Not available anymore, but I’ll let him expand on that.

Unless the air leaks are affecting your use of the coach it might be best to wait until you are ready to isolate them your self, or you are going to be near a shop that has a track record of doing this type of work efficiently.

Your aux air is used by the coach for the suspension, slide seals and belt tensioning among other things. The conversion part uses air for a variety of things such as the seat, dump valves, pocket doors, generator air bags, bed lift, etc.

If you have the key off and you lose air the chances are tipped towards the problem being with the conversion. If the leaks however make your aux air gauge cycle up and down it could be the suspension or other areas associated with the chassis. Someone skilled at isolating leaks has usually developed techniques to isolate them. What newer coaches are dealing with to an extent is the push in fittings age and begin to leak so you could have a single larger leak or multiple smaller leaks. One thing is known however. Fixing leaks is one of the quickest ways to accomplish wealth redistribution. The money flies out of your wallet never to be seen again.

A number of us have attacked leaks with a vengeance with satisfying results being the payoff to mind numbing patience checking every fitting and device.

Does your aux air gauge cycle often while driving? How often does it go up and down per minute or hour?

When parked do you need air for a slide seal, and if so, when the pressure goes down on the aux gauge are you holding slide seal pressure? How many air operated devices are in your house? Have you checked to determine if the aux compressor has a check valve downstream? How often does the aux compressor run? Are you drainng water from the air systems routinely?

My guess is they are going to want them out of the bus. If my geography is correct you are not too far from Nashville so maybe you might want to drop them off. I think you have Heart Freedom 2500 inverters and as I recall there are two relays, a couple of PC boards and a fan. If he stocks parts it will not take long to put the new stuff in and send you on your way. Depends on his schedule and how he sets up his work and stocks parts.

Thats about it Tom, When Tim and I picked up the bus it was plugged in. When we got home and pulled in Tim’s barn we plugged in. After kicking that breaker it was the first time we were running on battery and the first time we saw that high voltage.
And one inverter showed a overload.

Liberty #407: My current coach did not come equipped with diff temp and, yes, if you pull a heavy trailer, you should have one. Under adverse conditions (high speed, high load, high ambient temp) it is easy to exceed oil temp design limits.

I found an extra wire running from the back to the dash (can’t remember if it was indeed an extra wire or a wire I re-used from a piece of equipment I felt was unnecessary, maybe radar detector?) and installed a VDO electrical gauge.

November 25, 2014 at 3:36 pm in reply to: BRAKE CHAMBER AIR LEAK.

If you want to check your coach for leakage on your brake chambers when the parking brake is released, remove the service brake line from the brake chamber (the rubber hose, not the nylon line), hold your finger over the hole on the brake chamber, spray some soapy water around your finger, and if you see bubbles air is leaking from the emergency brake side of the chamber through to the service brake side and if you do not have an ABS modulator valve in the service brake line air entering the service brake side will eventually apply your brakes.

To do this you need to get under your coach. If you do make sure it is fully supported at the chassis support points.
