We try to look at our similar experiences as expensive adventures!
It helps 🙂

We ordered the new coach with a dishwasher. We have one in our current plastic coach and like it.
We didn’t want a built-in coffee maker so that got cut. We also use a lot of paper plates but we like our cocktails in real glass glasses. So, that’s where the dishwasher is of the utmost importance! LOL!

We dry camp a lot (about 50%) and usually entertain once a week when we are out. The only thing disposable allowed are napkins…
We found that our Fisher-Paykel dish drawer uses approximately 2 gallons of water on a normal cycle. If we wait until fully loaded before running it, the water use is less or the same as if I try to wash dishes by hand. Now, I’m very good at minimizing water useage and have developed many “tricks” to both limit fresh water use and grey water collection.
I don’t hand wash dishes at home and I don’t hand wash dishes when in our home on the road.
And Yes, the dishwasher is 120 Volt and runs off a 20 amp circuit.

Ramco,
Mine shake all the time and like I said previously, every Prevost I’ve had has the mirror head shake. I have had Velvac in fiberglass coaches and they did not shake.
The bus is ultra smooth, no vibration, the mirrors are tight, all fasteners from the mirror to the arm and then to the bus body are tight. All you have to do is just tap on the edge of the glass and you can feel how loose they are. No adjustment in mirror manually or by the motor’s will improve the shakes.
I have even now resorted to taping electrical tape to the mirror edges fastening to the mirror head and that doesn’t help much either. Others have stated the plastic motor assembly with the glass attached is the cause of the shake, everything is loose in the motor.
I made an Iphone video of the shake yesterday on our way home that shows the vibration, but it doesn’t reflect just how bad it really is. My bus is a 2002.

Gil,
I have spent hours researching a change to lithium. What I have found so far contradicts most of what your post says regarding charging them or installing them in my coach. But I know lithium batteries are being used in RVs so for the moment I am not going to worry about details. I do know my inverters and the generator “Watchdog” will work with them with no change. I may have to modify some numbers such as charging voltage or make sure there is no way to initiate an equalize cycle, but other than that my coach is good to go with the exception of the items I listed in my post above.
But rest assured I am not about to reduce the number of batteries or amp hours of capacity even if I never use the full capability. I mentioned on another thread I never use my fire extinguishers or insurance either, but I want to know it is there. You are dragging around a half ton or more of batteries so I would think you would have a reason for keeping that capacity.
The bottom line however is if I go ahead with such a modification to my coach it is because I can end up with long range fuel. Only a switch to lithium and the substantial weight reduction that comes from that change makes it possible.
This project makes as much sense as changing from a perfectly good dash to a Silverleaf. Nothing we do as Prevost owners has to make sense. It just has to satisfy us.
