On our Liberty, the small valve above the main waste tank valve was for the gray water bypass.

Thanks Paul, Is this what the switch in the bathroom that says gray water is for? it looks like it will drain out on the ground if this opens.
-
Yep. With that valve open, the gray water drains to the ground. Ours was electric operated instead of air.
That switch will open and close the gray water bypass valve.

Try to cycle the by-pass as often as possible, the initial fragrance that will come from the pipe when it’s open will have you looking around wondering if Jon is nearby after a trip to the Burrito Barn!

Thanks Paul ,As you can tell i know very little about the coach but i am learning alot here.

Is the way to cycle that valve the switch in the bathroom that says gray water its the only place i have seen the words gray water?

If the valve for gray water by pass and the main tank drain hasn’t been exercised one of the best things to do is to lube the rubber seal that is around the gate. Otherwise those valves just hang up. If the coach has a macerator it is likely to be frozen, so before trying to use it and burn out the motor reach behind it and get a wrench on the hex fitting. Rotating the hex fitting frees up the macerator. All of the above qualifies as the fun part of RV ownership.

Thanks Jon, where would I look for that macerator and what makes it run?LOL I really feel like a dumb— But when i started nothing worked . I do know what its for . Will Bus air work the holding tank valve or only the front air compressor?

I’m not sure you have one, but if you do it is on top of the holding tank, far back. It’s discharge would be a hose connection under the passenger side of the rear bumper.
If you have one there will be a switch in the holding tank bay.

There is a hose under the passenger side of the rear bumper looks like a oil drain pipe about one inch dia. I dont know what that is for .
-
Thanks Tom i now know alot more about that mac. before i thought that switch was for an apple computer. Its used to empty the black water with small hose. Nothing about it in the book. But there is owner manual on the mac pump but nothing on what its for.

Rob,
A few words of caution, “If at first nothing comes out, don’t go looking into the hose until after you flip the switch OFF!” Not a pretty picture if you leave it on!

Again Jon the macerator was just where you said but not on top of the holding tank it is over the holding tank up in the air in a dark place hard to get at it.
