There should not be air at the lifting chamber unless you are lifting the tag.
The only time that should see air pressure is when the air from the drive axle air bags to the tag axle air bag is blocked and the tag axle air bag air is being exhausted.
Something is messed up.

While it is easy to suspect a problem inside the coach, a GFCI will trip if the shore power does not have a proper ground.
Don’t hesitate to check to determine if that is the problem. You don’t have to be an electrical engineer. Unplug the bus and start the generator or if it is on an inverter circuit that will work. If the GFCI resets and you have power at the outlets then the probable issue is the shore power.

Regarding the DDEC I engine, have you tried talking to American Fleet in Springfield, MO? They do lots of Detroit Diesel, 8V92s as well as Series 60.
