    Mark,

in you post you mentioned your towing a F150 are you towing flat and if so how?

    I purchased a GMC 4X4 because I didn’t think I could tow a Ford.

I sustained the same leak symptoms and suspected the drain. Plugged the drain and filled the shower with a couple inches of water and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally determined the leak was around the mixing valve trim and fabricated a seal.

I’ve been on the Penntex for a couple years. The alternator itself has been fine but I did have an issue with bolt failures on the alternator mounting bracket at the block which may or may not have been related to the alternator change. Upgrading the bolts to 1/2″ seems to have resolved the issue.

Thanks Jon! Same here, much rather have a cracked windshield. It probably happened within a hundredth of a second, but it seemed to take forever. Time really stands still when you’re fully in the present! There’s a bunch of good info on Wikipedia about kevlar which most of us have probably heard before; nonetheless, it’s great reading, and it’s good to know that we have a worthy “deflector shield” protecting our buses! 🙂

    Davy,

The shocks are not going to make that scary curve treat the coach any differently. If you want the coach to avoid excessive leans in a curve slow down, or increase the diameter of the (anti) sway bar, or increase the size of the flow path for air into the air bags. Period.

As stated previously if you throw the coach into a curve with a hard and large application of steering the shocks will provide a temporary and short lived resistance to leaning, but that will never be evident in any case except extreme steering unputs.

Jack’s post is correct. If the oem shocks have outlived their usefullness it will be evident in how the coach reacts to certain road irregularities. Some dips will cause a coach with bad shocks to bottom out. Other bumps will cause the coach to seem like it is leaping back in the air after the coach has bottomed out. Good shocks will stop those issues.

If the coach is overweight or near the axle weight limits good shocks become very important to ride quality.

    David,

You know the correct answer. In those rare instances when a torque wrench is used there is no viable way to re-check. The recommendation to re-check after XXX miles likely means a torque wrench if used will click at 450 ft pounds when rechecked. I would be surprised if the average trucker gets his wheels torqued using a calibrated tool, and further surprised if the wheels are rechecked after XXX miles.

Silent in this discussion is the condition of the studs and nuts, with the torque values being for dry clean threads. Yet I have seen a tire shop wire brush the threads and then apply a light coating of anti-seize compound (copper), When asked the response was that was always how we did it. That is the same response I got when I had a tire changed on the road the the mechanic rammed the nuts home with a 1″ impact wrench and he had no torque wrench or ability to assess the torque.

If I was buying for my use and not resell it probably would be a non slide the public is into slides for what ever reason, they are nice if that is what you prefer

We can vouch for keeping records and a log. Probably set a record on the other sales site…less than 48 hrs and for the asking price(2000 CC XL). Jon in CC….I suppose anything’s possible. But Tom, could be next week.

If that’s a hub-piloted wheel, Alcoa makes replacements (don’t match) that are easy on and off one piece.
