Art, I am not an expert and I am sure the experts will comment, but it is my understanding that a crack can lead to disintegration on a hard stop. Therefore, I would never use a brake pad with any cracks.

Sid,
Please tell us more. What were the tire pressures in the tire that blew? Any particular reason for the blow-out; run over something in the road or….?
Also, I was told at Marathon they don’t weigh their coaches, have you had yours weighed?

Andre,
You’ll be billed the cash price. If you didn’t get at least 100 gallons, it will cost you a dollar.

As KC,MO is in the heart of USA I would be willing to keep a 365 tire at our bus barn.
Ideas ?
Access would be easy, I think. If I knew you were coming it could be set outside. Not likely to be stolen.
If I’am on the road… arrangements could be made with my neighbor close to bus barn to get access. Ideas ?
We have a truck road service which base location operates 6 miles from bus barn. This would solve the problem of mounting tire on rim.
Just used service to remove tag wheel….but that’s another story.

Correct me if I’am wrong… if you have codes the ugly fix is not working.

My guess is that the free end was once attched to the steering tie rod and acted as a steering damper. Look closely at the tie rod near the free end of the black cylinder for evidence of a prevoius clamp or bracket.
If it is not attached to anything it may be safe to remove it. BUT hard to tell from that one picture.

I am so sad to hear this news. I was at ETLC recently and was having a conversation with Dan. (Dan and Barb from Illinois) I made the comment that I was amazed at how unpretentious and down to earth Prevost owners were. His immediate response was “You have to meet Peter. He’s a bit intimidating when you first see him but he’s the nicest guy you will ever meet. You can’t miss him, he looks like the Marboro Man.” It’s very telling that when speaking of great people Peter immediately came to Dan’s mind. It was obvious that Dan was very fond of Peter. I regret that I never had the chance to meet him. He definitely made an impact on those who did.
My thoughts go out to his friends all across the country and especially his family during this difficult time.

Al,
That sure seems like a Poor decision on Tiffin’s part. What if it takes 1.5 Hrs to Evaluate and Diagnose and 4 Hrs to Fix ? SORRY , Thats over the 3 Hr Alloted Time , You will have to Schedule 60 Days Out ! They are going to have a High turn over rate in the Service manager Dept ? Also The 4 Year Mark, Will hurt SALES (HELLO ) and the prices of the used Models over 4 Yrs will likely Plumett ?

We made it over the Siskiyous before the next snow fall and had no more tag axle brake issues. There may have been a bit of ice in one of the brake valves that melted as the wheel heated up. These buses don’t like sitting in subfreezing weather even inside.
My brake chambers are likely the original ones. Time to start thinking about replacing them. Need to get familiar with how to cage these spring chambers should one fail on the road.
Thanks for all the help,
Gerald

Jerry I agree with all you said. I have time in the King Aire as well, they are loud, but with a pair of Boise A20 headsets you can get it a bit quieter. It’s the APU’s and noisy Jet engines that did me in, I hear phones ringing all the time.

I am 3 yr new to the Provost Community. Plastic Country Coach be for. I carry a 17 ft Little Giant works great, For best results for me is lean it on the side with an old bath towel against the awing and ladder.

I have got three coaches leak free and it takes time and hard work ,no one thing will find the leaks time and cold weather finds the leaks , when you fix one it pushes the leak to the next spot so time will help you , fix what you can and then next day fix more until there is no more , but time is the key after you fix some leaks if you wait until the next day or so others will show up , don’t get lost break it into three areas and do one at a time
Primary. Secondary. Auxiliary. Pick one and start there when all three are done you might have a leak free coach but cold weather is your friend when finding the leaks,,,,,,
