This is a good start, but the one I am trying to find lists coolants specifically for Detroit, Cat, Cummins, etc.

    https://www.valvoline.com/our-products/antifreeze-products/antifreeze-education/engine-coolant

Keep in mind the technology has changed significantly and in addition to the conventional ethylene Glycol, we added OAT when Cat developed it, and now we are seeing nitride free OAT technology and we seem to have more brands and types than we do colors.

    https://www.holtsauto.com/prestone/news/why-is-coolant-different-colours/

    http://blendtech.biz/antifreeze-information/diesel-engine-coolant.html

OK, will that be enough or will you make me keep digging? I still can’t find the tabulation I want, but I think you can agree coolants can be any color.

Kirby, Linda……..if you go to the Prevost Car web site, parts and maintenance section, publications you will find you can pull up the pneumatic diagrams for your coach. They are valuable because they not only show how the air system is plumbed, but the diagrams are so detailed they show the orientation of the individual fittings.

Bob, following your suggestion I went to “Articles” on this forum and found two entries. One of them is described as applying to early 102″ models with 8V92 engines and the other is described as applying to 1980s vintage coaches.

Do you know if the first diagram has any applicability to mid-90s coaches with Series 60 engines?

Thanks Jeff. Here are answers to your questions.

    1) House batteries are around 13.5V….see third photo.

    2) House 12v led interior lights fully function.

Photos depict inverters are “dead” and not hooked up to shore power.

    Question

    1) Are you saying the switch on the face of both inverters should be in the off position?

    Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

Every week I am pulling into or backing into churches with small and uneven entrances and I am constantly looking to avoid trouble just like that! It makes me love wide roads and large flat approaches!

They should train drivers on Jon’s driveway and bus barn. A chance at some side income, Jon?

In theory, you shouldn’t get an “undervoltage” code while running to my understanding. What’s the make/model? I have had to replace 2 voltage regulators on my gen (Kohler) due to erratic performance. If output voltage drops, my gen will shut down.

Congrats, Cal. After reading all the posts and talking with Rick Armes at Volvo and with Cal, I decided that this baro sensor and harness is the weak link and when it goes weird things happen so when ahead and replaced mine this weekend too. Waiting for next trip to see what happens. Total cost just under $200 and a backache. Connected the cut pink wire with Suzuki motorcycle connectors. Mike

    Wave,

On my 96 Liberty there is a tiny reset button on the bottom of the generator watchdog module. It has a ribbon cable plugged into it and has a couple small LED indicator lights on it. After a shutdown the reset button will have to be pushed to reset it before the inside generator start switches will work again.

I absolutely know what a harsh downshift feels like as my previous SOB with ISX600 called for 2nd gear.

I don’t want my new driver needlessly hunting for the shift pad when he failed to realize the bus had picked up more speed down hill than safe.

I totally agree that a more experienced drive can better control by manually downshifting. A new driver – not so much.

Anyway, I understand what other people’s need are, skill level, and mechanical consequences.

Back to my original question, is the diagnostic port the same for the Allison as the one used for the Detroit ECM? Mark, that seems to be what you are saying. Easy then.

    Thanks.

We never made claims of that nature regarding what odors may be contained within the coach. However let me restate for the record. The discharges from Liberty coaches have been proven to be as wonderful as rose petals.

on my coach late 90’s XLE there is a rectangular box floor level passenger side/curb. That is where your air lock /suck shut door mechanism is. Puts a latch system out to lock. Has a 1/4 inch air line running to it. I have a cable run down from main lock actuwaiter also .My spelling is horrible. Also on mine you can lock door from inside by pushing inside door handle down. Lots of mechanism there..Inside the dead bolt main lock there is a rectangular slide pin that can wear out also…
