Hey George ours has a air bed also, Nice thing about a air bed is that their light, for getting under the bed. Our old Foretravel had a Tempertic bed and it weighted a ton, getting under the bed was a job, But under the bed in the Foretravel was the motor so wasn’t under that often, the bus we have a lot of stuff under bed. Also measure the mattress I think it a little shorter in length like I think 6 inches. Yours being a XL45 ft might be different ours being a XL40 might be different.

While Al’s video is a tremendous service to this site….Instinct is Instinct and Muscle Memory is Muscle Memory. All who did not previously know this can keep telling themselves this but I’d bet that if it ever happens only about 20-25% will react properly. But, even if just one of the next ones do, it’s well worth it. Because I’ve been racing cars since I was 14yrs old and quickly realized that 98% of the time you were better off with a throttle pedal and a steering wheel than a brake pedal, I could very easily hit the brake pedal instinctively also. So far I have been lucky that I’ve never blown a steer on a bus, but have more than once in the past on our large race haulers. I always reacted properly from the correct instinct that I already had. Just some thoughts. Geo.

I think the height of the stands will vary coach to coach, my rears will slip under the tag axle support point at about 11,3/4 inches when coach is fully aired up on level low system

Fronts i cheat a bit i dump the Tag and then lift the front, raises much easier and further that way, i can get approx 16 inches under front points.

Best to raise your coach up fully and measure clearance, i leave approx 1/4 inch to put stand under and remove,

I feel very safe with solid steel holding the coach up above myself.

    Regards

    Gordon

I have tried buying “scrap” buses…the problem is not so much the cost of the bus from the insurance company…more so it is what it costs to get it towed to the lot…So the combination of those costs drives up what you would have to sell parts for…I would love to have a lot full of parts..

Andy, you may want to call Prevost PASS (Prevost Action Service System), if you haven’t done so already. They will be able to recommend service facilities closest to your current location. We had a similar incident in WI last year and they were extremely helpful.

    Good luck…

I agree Per, that is an experience no one needs and I’m happy you knew what to do and it worked as expected. How ironic you were on the way to replace the front tires… How fast were you going at the time?

    Glad your ok Per,

Art & Teri: Have you ever been to eastern Tennessee in the fall? Have you ever driven the Tail of the Dragon? Are you bicyclists? Have you ever ridden your bikes down the Virginia Creeper Trail? Have you ever spent any time in downtown Knoxville on the Tennessee River? Have you ever been to the Lost Sea Caves? Have you been to Ruby Falls? Have you ever watched the sun rise and set on 40 to 60 Prevost coaches?

Make your trek to the Maintenance Seminar a two or three week journey. Lots to see and do in and around Vonore. Lots to see and do along the way in I-40.

Get your TSD fuel discount card, make the trip, and exercise the card. That’s what its for.

OK, pulled and replaced all axles brakes on my coach 1995…all appeared original….No signs of abnormal wear or failure….So from what I am seeing it is all related to type of brakes….

One Xantrex freedom sw 3012. 12V. When last checked power getting to inverter. Batteries on Sunday were 12.6V each. New NAPA 9275 date congratulations de 06/19.

Inverter shows inverter enabled on the front. From talking with a few people I need the system control panel to actually turn in the inverter. I should have a new system control panel delivered late this afternoon and will see if it turns.

In the mean time, I have the coach running to bring up the batteries.

Possible road salt caused it to “soften” they look like “particle board” that is left in the rain. ? just asking, I have never seen car or truck pads do that.

I tapped on relays no change. We can eliminate cruise I don’t have it. Jake brake I always leave on. Not sure which relay it is. I found two loose wires at pressure switch someone has marked B. This just came out of the blue not sure what happened to cause it.
