Dick, I found your missing “codes” during a tour today at the building below somewhere outside D.C.

He made them out of the original units. He’s handy w/fiberglass.

And with the recent changes in Colorado law … I would suspect one could have trouble finding enough ambition to get the coach fired up to leave!

I had a 2008 XLII (2006 chassis) and currently have a 2011 H3 (2010 chassis) both have 14L Series 60 motors. I had issues on the first one dealing with loose injector hold downs and a couple of failed turbo control modules. The second one has been mainly trouble free.
I would not hesitate to buy one, and I second having a Detroit shop run the codes on both the engine and transmission. I would also check into getting the overhead (valves and injectors) adjusted if it has 60,000 miles or more and it has not yet been done. On both my engines, they were way out of spec. Some people will tell you it is not necessary, but Detroit has stated it should be done at 60,000 miles and I agree. Mine both ran smoother and better after getting it done.
The fuel mileage is not as good as pre egr engines, and my 2011 is even worse as it has more emissions crap on it. I do not get over 5.5 hardly ever, but I don’t drive for economy as I am usually on a very tight schedule. I also always pull a Jeep Wrangler.
You will find that the oil gets dirty much quicker with egr enabled. If you are worried about wear, I would simply change the oil earlier than it specifies in the maintenance schedule. I do mine at 5000 miles FWIW. I believe in the old adage that oil is cheaper than engines.

I don’t have a Prevost yet, but I have a 45′ AMerican Coach Eagle with 3 15K roof airs and we have no issue even on 2 (yes even in TX). We full time and are everywhere. There are days when we use the 3rd unit, but usually only if we let the coach heat up. I can easily keep the front half cool with one unit and I can keep the bedroom like a meat locker with just that one unit.
I know, its not a Prevost, but it is the same ac units and I have 4 slides, so I have a ton of space to cool down.

Since I finished changing out all the piggybacks, brake chambers, and diaphragms, I’ve noticed that It doesn’t take as much pedal pressure to get the bus to stop. IMO, I think we should be changing out these items about as often as tires.

We are selling a 1985 DeFever 44 sun deck trawler. Or trade for a Prevost?
