This doesn’t relate to the Jeep, but may be symptomatic of all the gyrations manufacturers need to go through to meet certification standard.

I bought a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins diesel and 6 speed manual transmission.

Under certain temperatures and engine load conditions at 1400 RPM there is a “bucking” or what the dealer calls a driveability issue.

I am within the recommended gear for the speed based on the diesel engine supplement. The service writers are no help because one even told me the engine needs to be in a gear that keeps the revs around 3000 RPM. He attributed the problem to my upshifting too early. He obviously hasn’t read the book. He checked with Detroit and they told him a software change would fix it. Nope.

So we will continue with the dance. They keep focussing on shifting, saying it needs high constant revs to regenerate the thingamajingy. So while I sat reading old magazines their service guru burned up 1/4 tank of diesel and pronounced it fixed. He claimed he could feel it clean itself up. The next morning it bucked like a bronco. Tom and Nancy were with us when it stalled once.

I will keep returning for service, they will keep telling me I am not driving it right or some other BS, but bottom line I think the standards have outpaced the engineer’s ability to keep up and all of our vehicles have the potential to have issues.

I have the same problem with my 365’s, the stem hole like Jon’s isn’t big enough and would require a very short extension, which I hate to do.

Not to highjack this thread, but here’s a Liberty Headhunter
tidbit…

I removed the restrictor and 45 psi regulator from the city water
input and put in a 60 psi regulator. Last month while at TGO for a
couple days I had 60 psi city water pressure, turned the pump off and
the toilet flushed without any problems. You could tell the water jet
was not as strong as when on the Headhunter pump, but it worked fine.
Like Jon, I’m now going to install an expansion tank that should
make the toilet perform the same or close to the same as pump
pressure, as long as I have city water with adequate pressure, 50 psi
or better.

We’ve had this conversation before, but I don’t see any logic in
having to use the pump and tank water when there is city water
with good pressure. As long as you use the pump and tank water
often and keep it fresh, I don’t see a downside.

I had a 2001 CC Magna that had a Headhunter Royal Flush toilet
with 2 Shurflo 12v water pumps and it worked fine. Freddy in the land
of taxes, can you verify that statement?

We usually do not share specific data and unfortunately the site we used to get detailed data that we could evaluate has gone down but in the short 18 months of our existence one key metric we tracked was the number of unique visitors per day. That was important to us because we don’t want someone who jumps in here to check posts 10 times a day counted as 10 visitors. That number of unique visitors has risen with every month to the point where even Tom and I cannot believe how many people come here. We do everything we can to keep the numbers accurate but we are still amazed at the activity.

Last month we started seeing a very steep climb and at the end of the month we saw a 20% increase over the previous month which indicates a tremendous leap in activity which we can sense from our administrative activities. Our membership since we started has now gone well past 500 and while that is a neat number the truth is we know far more than that number visit the site on average. Remember folks do not have to become members. There is nothing an unregistered guest cannot see or do on the site except post. And we know a lot of visitors and members will never post.

We appreciate the kudos and we will continue to try to make this site even better. We have some neat stuff in the works.

The success of this site however can be attributed to you members. Your posts whether asking questions or sharing information contribute greatly to the quality of the forum. All Tom and I try to do is try to strive for accuracy. The one thing everyone needs to give themselves a pat on the back for is how well members conduct themselves. With the exception of a couple of offshore hackers that made it past our screening we have not had to delete any posts or censor anyone’s comments because the posts have shown you members to be polite, informative, accurate, and respectful.
