Took it to Prevost Jax. It was a hose leaking at the condenser. They replaced hose and dryer, pressurized with Nitrogen, verified no more leaks, charged up, and now working like new. The hose had been slowly leaking for a while.

John, service mangager there along with Cindy were great as usual.

I have used American Adventure Insurance on the last couple of coaches, they have great service and prices. I normally talk with: Hunter Adler

Depending on the locality, you may run into significant restrictions on installing a pit. Think “confined space entry requirements”.

If you build in a farming area, not so much of an issue, but in city, could be a big issue.

1200 is a little for a 2 stroke one really has to push it for one to go over 1000 degress, where as the emission engine were built to use higher ETG it has been that way Europe for years the higher EGT the lower emissions I was told at a Detroit class. I checked a series 60 with CNG that pupply was 1300 F @ 1800 rpm I see why they don’t have cast manifolds

It was $3838 total, of which $250 was shipping. I paid extra for custom fabric, and two guys at Liberty took about six hours to install it. Please use this link to save yourself $50 and give me a referral fee to use towards my PC dues.

Here it is as a URL in case you need it that way for something: http://go.referralcandy.com/share/9H4XKS7

Recovering from my surgery that I had a couple of days ago. Can’t do any of the heavier stuff on the bus so I am working on the weatherstripping again. Apparently a lot of different types were used so no one can tell exactly what I need. Mine is in such bad shape that I can’t tell of ot is what is supposed to be there or not. I’ve been looking online for pictures of early 90s XLs to see if it looks like mine, but have had no luck finding any. Does anyone have a picture showing what their door seal looks like? Otherwise, I am thinking of heading to Nashville tomorrow and will try to find one to look at.

I’m having my coach interior modifications done at Panterra…great group of people! While there I looked at 3 coaches while the wife was picking out fabric and they all looked nice..don’t remember if one of them was the coach you are looking at or one at the showroom in Michigan.

    Doug,

If you don’t know Ben Cummins, he’s an expert on the electrical systems implemented by the converters. What ever he says you can take to the bank.

Your wiring diagram is interesting. It shows some out-of-the-box thinking on the part of Marathon. They certainly could have simplified what they did and saved themselves some money. So, I looked at what they did and tried to understand why. First, the good news is the drawing and Ben confirmed the generator does charge the batteries. I didn’t see in the inverter manual where the generator input was limited to 30A. If it is, what Marathon did was out of necessity, again I didn’t see a 30A limit on the generator input. What they did achieve is the ability to keep your coach powered in the event the inverter’s internal by-pass relay or or incoming AC voltage quality monitoring circuits fail. If either fails, just start the generator and all is well. This maybe what you’re experiencing now and something Tom just experienced last week. In Tom’s case, the systems powered through the defective inverter could not be powered at all, in your case the generator can be used.

I am a staunch believer in the KISS theory. I have seen at least one conversion driving down the road spewing blue puree, and have read about several more (they had the macerator :)). My opinion is that the more complex the coach and it’s systems, the more challenging it is to operate those same systems correctly and certainly more costly it is to repair. My personal favorite is the Creston works fine in a house, not so well in a coach; when it breaks it is a depot level change….send me another! Lot’s of things work fine in homes but when placed in something that moves…….well,..I give you the plasma television. While we think these coaches move around very little, in the grand scheme of things items that reside on board do believe they live in an active earthquake fault zone. To that many of us add our own personal touches, like that Stiffle Lamp that can and will, if not properly secured, travel towards the driver or the passenger at the speed of heat during a panic stop! Power assisted pocket doors, come on now, if you cannot open a pocket door then you really do not belong in a coach. Another often overlooked item is that these coaches come out of the converter way heavy. Add to that your special freezer in the belly where you carry your prized venison steaks from a hunt in Wyoming 5 years ago, and your ladders, your tools replete with that SnapOn tool chest of course, your lawn chairs, your firewood…………the list goes on. So, at the end of the day, buy what you want, load it the way you want, my personal choice is that “less is more”, as another correspondent so well stated!

If you can fix it please do but I need to learn to do it my self. This is the info Photobucket gave me to pass on for some one to view my public albums. I might be able to change your tire but this computer stuff is tough. Bob
