Passenger Side Dash Fan?
The passenger side dash ac/heat/defroster 24v fan is noisy, so I want to replace it.1995 chassis/96 Liberty XL classic with Prevost full bus OTR ac/heat.How do I get it out?Pictures of the project?If its too complicated? send me a message and we’ll get together on the phone.Maybe remove the headlight and the plastic bucket behind it?Is it possible to remove the rest of the vertical panel between the floor to the dash top?Is it possible to remove that forward stairwell wall?I plan remove and replace all the heater hoses is this area too which will give a little more access.I don’t want to open the Prevost full bus OTR ac system or evacuate it.I don’t want to remove the front exterior ss skin.The new electric motor is on its way from Prevost – $80, and they have 40 in stock (that’s saying something).I hope I won’t have to unplug it or stuff a towel in there to muffle the noise.TIA -

The one on top of the condenser box? I was able to R&R it with just that access panel you have open, reaching up and feeling around. It was awkward, but doable. I didn’t have to remove or disconnect anything else to make extra room.

No the one that needs changing is down low passenger side of the hvac box.
In the morning I’m gonna see about getting to it by removing the pass side headlight and the plastic bucket behind it.

We have Prevost replace that fan on our 1988. Prevost was NOT happy. The only access was from that area (not outside). I can’t remember what all they had to remove but it was a lot! The tech would have had better luck if he was the size of a Leprechaun.

To get out old and install new I removed the front right headlight and plastic bucket behind it. Easy peasy. New motor = Prevost# 562167 – $80, or Mobil Climate Control# 25-0135 – 24vdc, and now mine is quiet as a mouse.4 screws hold the Liberty cast aluminum surround on, disconnect the turn signal, I drilled out the 15 1/8″ ss rivets that and some silicone that holds the bucket. Cut the silicome that seals around the bucket perimeter, remove the bucket. Remove an adel clamp bolt that;s in the way, then remove the six 5/16 hex bolts that hold the motor on the hvac box. Remove the squirrel gage fan from old and install on new at the same depth. Remove the electrical plug from old and install on new. Reinstall in reverse order.I’m putting it back together with ss screws instead of rivets after I change the Webasto blue hoses with new.

I replaced my motor a few years ago to leaking coolant hose. A lot of work. The drivers side even worse. Nice write up with pictures.
