Right now you can turn off the features on most if not all cars, but the engine shutting down is an EPA mandated feature. Having said that there are plug in devices that keep the engine shut down feature from functioning, but the system in the vehicle may see that device and report it to the servicing dealer so your warranty is void.

And right now our cars track our every move, and our driving habits are able to be accessed by anyone with a legal right, such as lawyers, insurance companies and cops. Not only that our stops are recorded and reported and targeted ads based on our destinations are sent to our email and sites we visit.

The dealers have your SSN, your email, your phone number and they are now making money selling your information. I am not an admirer of how technology is intruding on every aspect of our lives.

    Bill,

Is it possible you got the 12” bag instead of the 11”?

Thank all of you for your responses. As I looked at the replacement struts I noticed that they are fully extended and wondered if they could be compressed some amount in order to install. Alas, it is not to be.

Another PC member I speak with often also recommended raising the bay door beyond the highest point and supporting with 2×4’s. Man, those doors are h e a v y. I will get this done before the week is over.

Thanks again to all of for responding. My next job is to replace my backup camera and monitor. I drive with the unit on all of the time. I will also be adding side cameras over the next few months.

Thanks to everyone for getting back so quickly!

The slides are Featherlite so the schematics will have to be from the converter.

Thanks again for the help. We are very fortunate to have this site! What a valuable resource for Prevost owners.

From experience I can say that Prevost made changes to dash layouts as the coaches evolved, but converters almost always made modifications to the dash layouts to suit their needs.

Unless someone has the exact model year coach, with similar Prevost options, and the same converter, and possibly the same model from the converter it is likely switches may have to be identified by trial and error.

There is one possible way to make the process easier and that is to pull the switch and find the wire numbers. Prevost and converters have numbered their wires and they have usually been consistent. Then chase down the circuit number to determine the switch function.

Thanks Roy. I have memorialized the brand, part number, and source in my smart phone, rendering it a bit smarter.

In a recent conversation with Paul (A/C specialty guy) at Prevost Jax, he mentioned that back in the day he devised a long extension tool to aid in remotely cutting the wire ties, hangers, clamps, etc that secures the hoses in hidden areas. We weren’t able to finish the conversation so I never learned his secret. Maybe give him a call.

Yes Craig, I had that line replaced by Prevost in Saint Nicolas on our 1994 Liberty. And yes it does run from the condenser bay across the fuel tank to the evaporator bay. It was a big/ expensive job, and the team of techs had 20 to 30 years experience working at Prevost. They had to pump off the 208 gallon fuel tank and remove it from the chassis. They said the most difficult step was removing the connection between the 208 gallon tank and the 90 gallon tank. Then they had to cut a hole in the back stainless steel panel in the evaporator bay to get access to the fitting for that 1” ID aeroquip line. Then of course they patched the hole and reinstalled the tank.

I had this done in June of 2016. At that time the labor rate was $104 Canadian which converted to $84 US. Since the cost was mostly labor, it was cheaper to have it done at Saint Nicolas although I didn’t really go there with that benefit in the plan.

I guess DD gave Prevost the best deal for a long term contract. Money talks (as long as the product is acceptable).

Wow!! Didn’t see that one coming!!

Congrats to Ann & Andre on getting one very beautiful coach, and to Buddy on getting the quick sale! As someone once said – timing is everything!!

Buddy, hate to see you go…I’m betting it’s just a temporary break though. We hope to see you soon down the road somewhere.

Ann & Andre, we’re looking forward to seeing you at OysterFest, if not before, and getting the grand tour. You certainly got a beauty!!

    Travel safe, my friends…
