  • ETLC-Big Surprise at East Tennessee Resort and Spa

Posted by Andre on February 5, 2019 at 6:22 pm

I scheduled some extensive work on my Liberty with Jeff and arrived 26 Jan 2019, just in time for snow and cold weather. The campground host “Buddy” was MIA so I checked my self in and settled in for the night. Monday morning the crew at ETLC got started on my list and worked all week knocking out projects.

    BUT !!!!

    Wait for it……

When I ran into Buddy, he gave me the sad news that he was selling his bus. Well that night I called home and mentioned to Ann that Buddy’s bus was for sale. Wow was I surprised when she said, “that is a real good bus, we should buy it!” You could have knocked me over with a feather. So to make a long story a little shorter, I bought Buddy’s bus. A 2007 Marathon H-345 2 slide, number 1080. Luckily Buddy gave me the ”Friends and Family” rate so I only had to pay 10% over retail. (just kidding Buddy) When I scheduled this trip I had absolutely no thought of even looking at a different bus.

SO, If take the cost of the work on my Liberty (which is now for sale at ETLC, call Jeff) and add the cost of buying Buddy bus and divide by the number of days camping at “ETLC Resort and SPA” I believe I have set a record for the ETLC Resort and SPA daily rate.

All joking aside Jeff and Buddy have been a joy to work with making this all work out. It is a great bus and we are looking forward to getting on the road with it. Now I have to get it home to Florida so the wife can see it.
Now I need to see if Buddy’s prime reserved parking spot conveys with ownership of the bus.

Well its true, I am going back to Louisiana to be an official grand paw for a few years while I can still walk and play like an “old” kid.

It’s been a great 14 years doing the motor home thing and have met some really great folks.

I probably won’t stay away too long so don’t write me off completely just yet.

Thanks all for all the good times and great friendships.

    P. S. My ETLC parking spot is officially on the auction block to the highest bidder, sorry Andre and don’t tell Jeff.

    Andre and Ann,

Buddy and I each had a 2007 Marathon H3-45. Mine was 3 Valid slides Buddy 2 slides. The production Marathon numbers were 1075 (me) and 1080 (Buddy). Both had the Multi-plex systems which eliminate 95% of plug in relay’s. I have been on this beautiful / outstanding bus many times.

You have chosen an extremely well cared for H3-45.

    Right spot right time.

Fantastic Andre and Ann, couldn’t have been a better deal made for all. Buddy doesn’t know it, but I have a tracking devise on his pickup, so he won’t get far.

I have a feeling this will just be a recess, but happy for both parties. Couldn’t have found a better bus Andre…

Congratulations to Ann and Andre. Something about the ETLC air, we went there for an oil change and some service and ended up with our current bus almost three years ago.

It’s happened again. As said before right place, right bus, right time

Best of Luck and safe travels

Wow!! Didn’t see that one coming!!

Congrats to Ann & Andre on getting one very beautiful coach, and to Buddy on getting the quick sale! As someone once said – timing is everything!!

Buddy, hate to see you go…I’m betting it’s just a temporary break though. We hope to see you soon down the road somewhere.

Ann & Andre, we’re looking forward to seeing you at OysterFest, if not before, and getting the grand tour. You certainly got a beauty!!

    Travel safe, my friends…
