Motorhoming is always an adventure
Yesterday, traveling on Highway 46 to Pasa Robles, CA, the air horn solenoid failed and the horn turned on and would not quit. We are traveling with Dan & Judy Hilger. We communicated the problem, and we all pulled off at the next exit. After evaluating the problem and a quick text to Jeff Rowe and a very fast response, we located the horn solenoid disconnected it and capped the air line. Thanks to both Dan and Jeff. Just another day in the life of motorhoming.

Into every coach there is a sophisticated device that is connected to the internet. It has the ability to create intermittent problems, unusual problems, and an occasional normal problem. There is some geek sitting in his underwear that has been given access to the passwords for every one of these devices and depending on his mood, time of day and phases of the moon he triggers a fault on coaches at random just for fun. Then he watches the posts to see how crazy there problems drive owners.
When I find him I’m going to make him fix air leaks in Prevost coaches for the rest of his life. That should be punishment enough.

And that’s why jeff is so much better help then me. I would have told you to put some new York plates on your coach and keep.heading doen the road 🙂

Roy had mentioned earlier that he had been chasing a small air leak in the aux system. Found it!! Evidently the airhorn valve was leaking a small volume through the horns, once the valve let go it got REALLY loud. Once we capped off the air supply to the valve, no more leaky, woohoo.

Could you share where the valve is located?

The solenoid valve is in the Prevost compartment under the driver seat. It is a MAC valve model 225B-601BAAA. I sourced this valve from mpparts.com.
