Was not plugged in. Was running on generator. Have tested my plugs and the cords, and everything checks out OK.. When I put a tester in the outlets, it says a ground is missing. Have searched and can’t find it. GFIs all check out. Everything works. Mystified…..

Sorry Darrell,
For some reason I can not upload a pic to this forum lately. I keep getting a flag that states that the file is not authorized for uploading. Haven’t had much luck uploading a pic from my smart phone either.
I just built an angle iron frame and attached it to the floor in the engine bay beside the battery bank and plugged the charger into the 120V engine bay receptacle. Charger should be turned off when running the engine/alternator.
There is a thread here somewhere that shows a pic of the installed charger but I can’t find that either. That was posted along about the last week in April past.

In California, the speed limit is 55 for semi-trucks and other vehicles while towing, which includes my bus when towing my car, and even my jeep when towing a small boat. The result is that the truck traffic in CA generally travels around 62mph, which is the speed I drive my bus. That regulation works just fine. I’m very rarely passed by a truck. The 55 speed limit could easily be expanded to include buses and non-semi trucks and imposed nationwide. It would have essentially the same effect as speed limiting devices at zero cost to the operator and without the safety concerns that truckers and Jon mentioned. However, imposing a nationwide speed limit is politically unpalatable in this era of resistence to regulation, especially regulation imposed by the feds. DOT must have concluded that accomplishing a similar result via a mandate of speed regulating devices will be less visible to those who oppose new regulations, and therefore easier to implement.

Plenty of big rigs use that route (logging/timber trucks, wheat/hay trucks, etc.). Doesn’t mean it’s the best option 🙂
If you have concerns, run out 90 west to 395 down to tri-cities area and pick up 84 in Oregon to get down to Boise area. There is a section you will need to run up on 84 (I think it’s called hells canyon or something east of Pendleton). Came down it earlier this year. Was exciting coming down, would be a long grade going up. But the view is amazing.
On a side note, if you find yourself on 84 east of Boise looking for an overnight (or a couple night) spot. Check out Mountain Home RV park (in Mountain Home). BIG pull through spots, VERY wide paved roads, etc. We had no problem getting our 45′ coach + 25′ trailer into the park, through the park and into the spot (with plenty of room in front and behind) and then out again.

Made it to Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch. Gorgeous place, and quite a few more coaches here this time. Bad news in the “always something” category; the tag axle seal Prevost replaced is leaking badly again. Is it really that hard to do a good job on the axle seal?

Where does the GadgetGuru live? Do you travel to the midwest?

Also forgot to mention in post above, Prevost said they weren’t bad, but had them also replace all Air bags on one of the first trips a few years back when I was chasing leaks. You will find winter is a killer on settling as summer is not as bad with leaks as all rubber and plastic goodies swell with the heat.

You get a good grade on your essay Andy because you almost have a prefect score. Only two errors, both minor.
The Cruiseairs as Per points out have their own vents and distribution system for supply and return air. Minor misunderstanding. Even less important is where the Cruiseairs are located. In a Liberty two are located behind the drop down front bumper, and two are located in the center of the coach in line with the 2nd bay back. Despite their locations they can be accessed by a technician relatively easy for service.

I went with the Telestep 12ES it’s very sturdy and weighs 24 pounds. I can reach the top of the coach but can not get on the roof.

On the iPhone, it looks like this:

Prexactly, I third that Jon. Been telling Barb for years how I would have the stainless polished up to the aluminum, then have the aluminum painted one color.

What a weekend! Glad no one was hurt.
You think the excessive heat was a factor? If the ambient temps are over 95 during the day then I try to drive at night as a rule. I know that made a terrific reduction in the number of blowouts I had when I was pulling a fifth wheel thousands of miles a year. I have no evidence it helps with the bus and these monster tires, only sneaking suspicion.

Thanks for all your input, I really do apprciate it. I havent even came close to commiting to go see this coach and chances are I won’t simply because there is no comfort level, because there is NO crediable information. I was hoping someone on PC might have specific information.
I have been buying fix up stuff my whole life and have I have been pretty successful at it. I am not about to loose my shirt on anything as complicated as a bus.
As to my budget, I would like to end up somewhere around $100-$125 k but I would also like to get one that needs some work as I mention before. There is decent looking bus in Alberta that I might go look at.
Again thanks, Dale
