Our next rework includes recovering sofa,installing new flooring in the front in place of the carpet,removing dishwasher and replacing with a wine cooler,removing trash compactor and putting drawer for trash can and replacing cracked vitracor, replacing cooktop with induction cooktop

Our coach gets in line for remodeling on Wednesday, July 16th. Working with Jeff and Mindy (designer) has been very exciting. We can’t wait!

I am very happy to have Johnny B on full time vs part time now. Johnny is a true craftsman,having had cabinet shops, working for Parliment coach then moving to tn and working at Buddy Gregg’s and then on to Thompson coach
Vitracor replacement

Jeff,
When speaking with Frank at Liberty about replacing the vitricor because of color he said that because they hang the cabinets in place and then build around them, different from what everyone else does, that you can’t just replace the vitricor. Have you found that to make a Liberty more difficult to work on?

Due to the construction some pieces require a little more than others, however usually pieces on the face of the cabinets are straight instead of a radius. The radius pieces are the worst about cracking. The company we are using makes a perfect match with the color of the material….

Hi Jeff, this is a reply to an older post you had about your man in the shop. I owned a Thonpson coach for 5 years and the craftmanship was outstanding. I never touch the inside of that coach. Tell Johnny it was the last coach that Rick Thompson built. Rick Thompson was a class act and still is today I just wish that the bus industry hadn’t crashed because i know he would still be building Thompson coaches. Jeff I really like all the pictures you post on the up-grades you do . It keeps the wish list in my brain a ticking.

Oops. Looks like a plagiarized a line someobody else said. But it is true. Unlike what the other guy once said.
If you have a good reliable coach there is a lot of benefit to considering updates to the coach as an alternative to replacing it. We have seen others post on the forum about the benefits of doing an upgrade compared to buying another coach and there is no doubt when all factors are considered that makes economic sense.
It is fun watching the work on this coach as it morphs from a stripped shell to a first class motor home.
