Car vs Prevost not a good match up. You ain’t gonna win that in a car or light truck. Years ago seen an accident invovling a pick up head with a bus down in South Texas. Not good. Bus ran another 1/2 mile with truck stuck in front grill area. 2 people in truck. No Bueno for drug runners. They were running from DPS.

I starved my 97 45 foot XL of fuel on my driveway even though I had 100 gallons on board. I had the 208 gallon standard tank plus the 90 gallon aux tank. My driveway is steep and with the nose pointed downhill I got almost into the garage when it died.
I added about 30 gallons and primed it and it started up. I filled it and could only get about 130 gallons in it so your problem might be the slope has moved fuel away from the pickup.

Have a Silver 8VTA in my 1991 and wouldn’t know if underpowered. Just pull flats and some hills around West Texas and Hill country. Always have Ford Edge and FordSupercrew F150 4WD towing behind. It gets up and goes with the traffic. Only other thing I’ve had to compare was 35 foot Holiday Ramblers with V10 Ford motors. No comparison. The 8V92 would eat those things for breakfest. Of course the 4 to 5 miles per gallon is an eye opener with the 8v92.
