I’m just glad to back up and running! Have been introduced to several other reputable facilities by PC and POG members .
Excalibur is just a bad memory from this point on and obviously will never do business with them again.

Hi Jim
We are doing this job from underneath, we don’t have our bedroom apart to take pictures. At first we thought we had to pull it apart but it would not really help to change the power steering pump. Our o-ring is not leaking on our pump as mentioned in other posts, it is the pump shaft seal that is leaking. There is no leak on the ground, the ATF is just going into the engine and you can start to see the oil level getting higher on the stick. We have not driven it like this so I don’t think we hurt anything, luckily it failed in front of our garage.
We did change the compressor coolant hoses, the originals did not seem anywhere near as bad as they talked about on the Bluebird forum linked above. There was one black rubber covered one but it was not rock hard and brittle like on the Bluebird. We had both lines replaced with stainless braided covered teflon lined hoses from Hoses Unlimited in Oakland, CA. We send them our old hoses and they duplicated them. They say this teflon lined hose should last almost indefinitely on the cooling system. It was only about $100 for both hoses. I don’t think we really needed to change ours because they didn’t feel that bad but we feel better now after we did it.
Thanks everyone for the help,
Starla

If I fail to put the toilet seat down and I hear it slam down I know I forgot it on my checklist, but I also know what the noise was.
That’s not on my checklist, Jon, because in my household it is ALWAYS down when not in use.

A happy ending and very glad to see the thread was NOT censored, but was removed by the originator.
The originator or the thread had a very happy resolution because all his money was reimbursed. I am glad to see the thread was not deleted due to censorship because we owners need to share information, and the fact the post was made likely caused the company being critcized to resolve it to the Prevost owners complete satisfaction.

Thanks guys. Wish I had that drawer Jack. Will call Troy to figure it out.

Don’t get me wrong. Centrimatics and Balance Masters get the job done. But at 8 times the cost of enough Equal to do the job they are not without problems. The first is then next owner gets to thank you for your largesse. But a more serious problem in my opinion is they block the view of the brake disks. You have to get under the coach to look for scoring,
They can fail. The one I had that failed for whatever reason had the balancing media clump up. Had I not changed my own wheels I would have never noticed. I seriously doubt the kid in the tire shop would give a damn so that could be a problem. They can corrode so unless they are maintained the thin metal can rust.
Admittedly unlike Equal they are reuseable. But if I have to break down a wheel, I just blow or vacuum the old Equal out and throw in a new bag. At $10 or $12 depending on the wheel and location that’s cheap compared to the cost of the alternative.
But whether I spend my money on booze, women, Equal or Centrimatics I think it is far better than having balance weights glued or hammered onto your polished aluminum wheels.

I hate to take a Cruiseair temperature filter and calibration thread and take it off track so I will quote Gil’s post and start a new thread under General Topics.
