Ideally the fan blade should be centered in the shroud with no more than 1/2 of the fan blades inside the shroud. This setup is not like automotive setup where the fan is buried in the shroud. Plus on the bus the entire fan blade should never be inside the shroud even at full rpm.
There is a little adjustment available wih the radiator/fan shroud assembly but not much. The stand on which the fan gear box is mounted should have a little adjustment available. The two legs that bolt ot he floor of the radiator compartment also have bushing in them that can wear and allow movement in the stand. If you can get a little adjustment of the two legs toward the engine, then the top tilts more toward the radiator. Then the belt length and the small air bag should position the assembly correctly and give you that needed clearance on the bracket shown above in the responses.
We have seen issues with the adjustment when the radiator has been removed and replaced. Generally the fan gearbox mounting plate is drilled for it to fit with little adjustment. I have heard and seen people enlarge the holes slightly to get a little movement in the gearbox and fan adjustment into the shroud.

One thing on the Marathon tech-link system. When I originally thought it was my video card, Leon advised they no longer support my old system, and I would have to upgrade to the Rasberry. That’s when I started to ask more questions.

I’m the messenger on this one. They stated they have documented 110v water pump failures because of this air issue and, that’s why in the newer Marathon coaches, when you turn the bus on, it disengages the 110v water pump and engages the 12v water pump.
Maratahon says this is one of the reasons why they now put in two 12v Shurflo water pumps instead of the 110v. For me, it fairly easy though since I have a water pump button in my water bay where I unhook anyway, so it won’t be a big deal to shut-off my 110v water pump when I travel, and turn it back on when I arrive. I do have to go to the otherside of the coach to turn on my 12v water pump. But it’s not worth the price to automate this process.
I think you Liberty guys are jealous that there is no “Leon” at Liberty 🙂

Here’s what I did, had the lumber center rip 8 sheets of 4×8 3/4″ plywood down the center. Cut them down 4.5″s at a time, and wood screwed them together. Total step is 31.5″s, 6″ height, 64.5″ platform length. For the front I went with 12″ width. I’m adding a 4X4 block on the ends and hinging them so I can easily stack them. $380 total
I believe Gerald used 6 one inch thick sheets, IIRC

Just within a couple inches. Just wanted to see for the sake of making ramps and their being plenty of tire on the top of the stack (for the wood) to make sure Im not going to back off trying to get both the drive and tag axle on safely.

Im thinking of the expression “Do no harm” (sorry but I can’t spell Hippocratic) allpies here. Twice I’ve gotten myself in trouble and bot times without doing harm to my coach. One I chronicled above (sorry Tom, that means mentioned) the other was on my way home from Texas. I stopped for fuel and it was pouring rain and dark as Hades itself. I mean it was so bad that I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking! Now that’s bad!Moving on down the street I took a right too sharply and my right rear wheels went off the road. Did I tell you it’s pouring rain and its darker than the buns of a Canadian Werewolf in full flight? I jumped out with a flashlight, yes I needed a cold shower, and took a look and water already started pooling around the wheels and it didn’t look good.
I thought I had one chance and that was to forget the turn and pull straight ahead. I had the room but there was all kinds of traffic. I already had them backed up behind and on the lane I particularly turned onto, so I may as well make all directions mad right? I also knew if I don’t get this thing out of this ditch these folks would be here for a long time. My hope was I’m a lot bigger than they are so I win and I was right.
Man an I was drenched and miserable and not just a little concerned about hypothermia because I was already shaking. I put my foot on the brake, released the emergency brake, put the tranny in 1st gear, gave the wheel a small turn to the left and gave the get up and go peddle a little push and guess what? I walked right out of there! I was also lucky there was a big parking lot right down the street where I could pull over towel off and change clothes. It’s ok to drive a bus in a pink robe right? Hey it had some nice flowers on a pocket!
That’s twice now I’ve walked myself into a problem without consequence to me or my bus and I give thanks, I can tell you that for sure. I’m sorry this isn’t a bridge story but I’ll make one up for you if necessary?
I was extremely fortunate because in either situation the potential was there to have really torn up my bus. I was lucky and trust me when I say I’ve learned from the experience!

I have replaced a few on mine, they are polished stainless. I believe I purchased mine from CC in Junction City. They are alive and well although they were purchased by Winnebago, they can still source most every part on their conversions. Should you choose to do it with a hand gun, you will need a jumbo with three foot, yes foot, handles and even then it requires substantial force. Be sure you ask for a Conversiom Bus Specialist when you call CC…….. BTW after the rivet is installed put a dab of clear silicone on the center hole.

Yes, I have had 2 poop tank misfortunes within one week, but none were my fault. Ya ya, I know, you’re laughing thinking it won’t happen to me.
For those of you with the Rhino sewer hose that think your hose is gorilla proof, think again. Take it apart and silicone the coupling that hooks to your dump pipe. Just ask Doug what happens when the coupling comes apart, I never saw a guy run so fast, in the opposite direction I might add.
For those that were present with coffee squirting out their noses laughing, your day will come, I hope I’m there.

I was unaware a drag strip was needed to enter an interstate with a 65 MPH speed limit. My point is anytime we all spend money on our coaches we post how great the improvement is, but nobody ever quantifies it making it difficult to determine the value of the repair or adjustments.
