Mark, you will love upgrading to a Prevost.
When I first drove our new to us Country Coach XLII, my mind was processing the differences from the Signature. As the hours went by, I began to think less about the differences and started enjoying the ride, obvious quality, and the tank like feeling.
To me, it was an experience much like driving my first Mercedes. You can feel the quality and the more you drive, the more you come to appreciate it.

You can also hols a strong magnet on top of the center valve. If you hear the valve move or air moving it is the coil. A fairly common happening.

Chuck,
I think most of the OTR system parts are readily available at A/C supply houses. I do not believe we have any system components not available across the counter. Have whoever is working on your system see if there are equivalents to the part you need. (Expansion valve???)

I suspect since these issues of delayed starting and stopping are quite random, that they are a result of the watchdog system. I have never seen specific info on all the operational parameters that cause these restrictions, haven’t experienced them enough to work out details, and learn more everyday so I guess I will just deal with them since they eventually respond to what I am asking for.
We have worked out quite a few bugs and are down to the Webasto system and how to TS it!

The dealers for Detroit and I presume Volvo are obligated by law to make certain the programming on engines is in compliance with the EPA certification standards.
In other words the engine has to have the ECM programmed as it was originally (subject to factory required reprogramming) and this means if it was modified to produce more HP or had any other changes the dealer has to restore the programming to the default settings. At a recent seminar the local Detroit dealer told of some situations in which an engine had a program designed for a different vehicle and according to the dealer he had to return to the original default settings or not release the engine (coach) back to the owner.
If the dealer failed to do so it was subject to significant fines.
Having said that in regards to this specific issue I know of some coaches that came from the factory with the EGR disabled above 11,000 feet, while others the factory settings did not provide for the EGR to be disabled at any altitude.
Given the question I would speak to my local Detroit dealer and ask if that change to an 11,000 foot EGR limit is an allowable change. If it is then have it made and then do whatever might make the coach more acceptable to you the owner, but keeping in mind the EGR is a mandated feature to be compliant with EPA certification requirements for the engine.

MemberJune 17, 2019 at 1:18 pm in reply to: It’s Coming…Probably Sooner Than LaterAgain, the number one employment position of a high school graduate is truck driving or driving some form of transport of goods, persons or services. .. the estimate is over 10 million employed ..,.. try that again …. 10 million …. and they are working.
I truly hear the argument in these exchanges yet in the latter years of my business career, I have focused on Governance on Corporate boards. One of the primary policies I try to follow is trying to enforce the concept that “Governance teaches one not to do something even though it is legal.” Many legal acts make sense on the surface … but the underlying consequences can be devastating.
The primary issue here is one of a similar nature. Those developing the self driving concepts will be long gone and hard to find when the effects of their actions are felt…. good or bad. I personally by far would rather have 10 million employed truck drivers than have to deal with 10 million unemployed college graduates with degrees that are basically unusable.
From my view, I would rather address the issues at hand rather than try to prove a point. We need to be employing people at this point in our economic lives rather than developing ways that reduce the work force. These persons will not be “retrained” … that has never worked in our history …
Just respectfully saying,
Pres
