On my coach there is a switch that controls an ABS diagnostic light on the upper left side of the steering compartment. If you flip the switch it will strobe the diagnostic code which will identify the sensor that is causing the issue.

One of my drive axle sensors in the pumpkin is complaining. It does not seem to disable the entire ABS system. The ABS function still works at least for the steering axle. I could hear it engage on a couple of occasions when I had to brake hard on a road with some gravel. It sounds like a machine gun with the pneumatic brakes engaging and releasing quickly. First time I heard it I thought “this sounds expensive” but it was just the ABS engaging.

Here is the problem ABS sensor in the housing of the differential.

It does seem accessible but I have not talked to Prevost about replacing it since my ABS system seems to work at least on the steering axle.

I did not catch the ABS light during the purchase inspection four years ago because someone had removed the indicator bulb on the dash (probably got tired of looking at it) and I did not know about the status indicator readout in the steering compartment. It has been a good coach but it is another thing to look at when buying – caveat emptor.

The inverter turning off after 5 seconds could be because it is entering “sleep” mode because it did not detect any loads. Easy to test though. Either disable “sleep” mode in the config menu of your inverter or provide a mininum 100W load on each leg of the split phase. Probing with a DVM or other multi-meter will not provide enough load to turn the inverter on.

Of course, there could be other reasons why the inverter turns off, e.g. battery. I assume you have made sure that the house battery has adequate charge and can deliver the amps the inverter needs. How did you test the house battery bank? What was the house bank voltage while it was trying to invert for 5 seconds?

I also was feel bad for the truckers when I see the rest stops filled up with RV’s. Plenty of places for RV to park but it does cost you some money. I generally look for a Walmart myself.

As far as your reverse polarity issue. If you are using a 50 to 30 amp adapter, check the polarity at the 50 amp female end before plugging the coach cord in. The adapter may be wired incorrectly if the recepticle is wired correctly.

As far as your cameras, if the power was disconnected to the coach the radio- display unit will reset its connections. You need to get into the radio setup and set the correct input for the cameras. This is a failry common Royale (as well as other Monaco products) issue. Once you do it it is easy from then on.
