I vaguely recall leaving a truck stop at zero dark thirty one morning and getting on 95 south, about twenty minutes later my cousin who was running behind us called with the good news that sparks were coming out from underneath the toad. at the next exit we pulled off and soon discovered that someone who should have been paying a little more attention didnt turn the ignition switch far enough to unlock the wheel and the wheel was turned. The sparks underneath were from the cords in the tire after all the tread was worn off. needless to say I still hear comments from the better half about checking things alittle more carefully . Life sure gets interesting sometimes.

Jon, I would like to get an old Norgren valve when one is available just to get familar with them before I am in a project. Let me know how I can make sure the exchange is done in the most convenient way for you.

If all we had to deal with were bugs nobody would have bras or (gasp) plastic shields. Unfortunately we get stuff dropping from trucks like the crap that bounces off the dumptruck when it hits a bridge expansion joint, just after the SOB passed and cut in too close.

    Hi David,

I use the google search personally and it’s a great program. The downside is we would have to opt out of the advertising, it would drive folks nuts and that requires a pricing plan based on usage. It all comes down to expense and if it’s reasonable, we can do it. As an example, if we do the 2500 plan, that gives us 50,000 searches. What happens when the 50K is exceeded is the question.

Thanks for the suggestion, maybe we can pull it off. Or, we can raise your dues.:)

The CAC replacement on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 5 with respect to difficulty. For me, working alone and without the benefit of lifting equipment had to devise a way to get the entire radiator / CAC assembly out so I could lift the CAC from its position. The entire repair only had a few spots where access was limited so the bulk of the work was dealing with the time it took to drain and refill coolant, removing all the shrouding, and all the little things I did such as replacing all the flexible fittings.

It is just too bad any of us have to do this repair or pay to have this repair done because installing the better CAC right from the start would have made it all unnecessary.

Gil,I think that I will just get a remote thermometer and I decided to use a fan to blow cool air into the top rack of the batteries and it should exhaust under the bottom of the coach.Joel,Because I have 3500 watt inverters and 6 batteries the amount of heat generated is much greater when inverting and charging than coaches with 2500 watt inverters and 2-3 batteries, also sometime in the past Liberty decided to pick up the air from under the coach instead of through the bay doors which I am sure would be cooler than from underneath.I replaced all of the batteries today and all of the old ones look perfect,I can only guess that the corrosion could be from the gel battery that vented and I reused the terminals that came off the gel batteries, the terminals were likely exposed to the acid fumes and that could have caused the corrosion. The old batteries look like new with no buldging or stress to the cases, even though the voltages are the same on the Outback pannel the lights are brighter. Thanks to Tom for the discount and to Lifeline for having a warehouse 60 miles away and participating in additional discount.

Outstanding job! It looks really good and I like the lighter color. The curved bull noses show some real craftsmanship; they aren’t easy.

There might be better alternatives, but I have had very good success with contact adhesive.

Apply to both surfaces. allow to dry and press the two surfaces together. Easy and usually permanent.

Here’s the LED panel lights I installed in my side curb lights. All low to the ground lamps got one LED panel and the higher ones got 2. These work great and put out a lot more light than the original incandescents.

We are towing a 2013 4 door Rubicon. We are using the Demco base plates, the Demco dominator tow-bar and the Cooltech wiring harness kit. All simple to install yourself. We really don’t notice the Jeep back there whether on flatlands or up/down the mountains.

When my wife followed in our Acura MDX our combined fleet milage was 5.4 mpg (bus 7mpg, MDX 24mpg). Towing the Jeep we get an average 6,8mpg without running the OTR, Best of all my wife no longer gets lost…
