Swapping out marker/turn/brake/etc lights with LED
went through and took inventory of all the marker/turn/brake/cargo/backup lights. Came up with a total of 82 bulbs. Bought everything from superbrightleds.com.
Spent a good 6 hours taken all the lenses off, scrubbing them clean, polishing them with plastic polish, cleaning the bulb housings or 15 years of dirt, bugs, dust and grime. Put everything back together. Looks great and lights are much brighter.
Only problem is I didn’t count the 7 red, 7 amber marker lights on the front/back roof and the 5 amber lights on the front dam under the bumper. Total of 24 more bulbs!
But it will be worth it once I am done. The polished lenses and LED bulbs really do make a difference.

Great work Charles they look good . Are the side markers on your coach the 24volt two bulbs each light if they are, what led bulbs did you replace them with ?

I am looking for 24 V replacement LED’s as well. My side markers and tail lights are still 24V. Everything else has been converted to 12V.

Bill grote has replacement LEDs that are 24 volt maker lights that screw right in to same holes you my have to hard wire them in or get the plug that fits light and wire it in ….

the side marker lights are 12v tow bulb per fixture.
Still need to order the top marker lights as well as the front lower lights.
I’ll post up the part numbers I used for everything after I am done (and collect the packing slip which is in the bus right now).

Here are the 82 lights I started out with…
Once I am done getting all lights replaced, I will need to make another order and get some spares to have with us.
I think the lights in the picture cost around $2500 after discount. I went the refurbishing of the lenses route instead of buying new lenses. Saved a good amount there and using some plastic/lexan polish, they really cleaned up nice and look almost new again.
The side marker/turn and tail light lenses are hard to find replacements for. The cargo lights were easy since Tom pointed out where to buy them. Figured I would try polish first before spending the money on all new lenses though.

Al, did you get a chance to replace your bottom clearance lights yet? When I left the campground yesterday I notice that the top ones were clear and the bottom one’s a little cloudy?? You should have some time on your hands since I’ll be gone for a week.

Not to worry. I am using Al in Sids absence. I had him most of the the day and he is very helpful, does not talk back and is very good at bus talk.
